Details of Today's Chapters: Solomon explains that good and bad men fare alike in this world, all men must die to this life, disappointments are common, but wisdom comes from them, respecting subjects and rulers, and the duties of subjects and rulers.

Hello My Friend/Guest,

“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.” - I Peter 1:16-21.

While no amount of good we do in life can take us to heaven (it is only my accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior that we can get to heaven) it is the good that we do after we are saved that distinguishes Christians from the rest of the world. Let's face it whether you are a Christian or not God is no respecter of persons, He treats everyone the same. However, what happens to us after we die is what actually distinguishes us from the world, while we receive our rewards for our good after we are saved when we get to heaven, those who refuse Christ receive eternity in hell. “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” - Matthew 25:46

Solomon, when applying his heart to know the work of God took went through a great deal of pain to search into it, although he was no closer to an answer than when he first began he did come up with one conclusion.

“For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath. This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead. For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” - Ecclesiastes 9:1-4.

While there is life there is an opportunity of preparing for death, and since death is certain, it is our wisdom to make the best possible use of life while it lasts, cheerfully taking our share of life’s enjoyments. If a man has Christ as His Savior, he may be happy though the world frowns upon him, and if he is without Christ, he may be miserable, though the world smiles upon him. Regardless of how the outward condition of men may seem to us, let it be remembered that all men's affairs are in God’s hands and that prosperity is not necessarily a sign of God’s love or affliction of His hatred, much of the worlds riches are not the work of God at all, but in fact, Satan to keep them away from God. ”Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” - Matthew 6:19-21.

Fools are apt, at every turn, to proclaim their deceitfulness, for if one is lacking in true wisdom, it cannot be concealed. True wisdom is true honor and will gain a man a reputation which is very valuable. Solomon, having shown the benefit of wisdom, and of what great advantage it is to us in the management of our affairs, also shows the mischief of deceitfulness and how it exposes foolish men to their wickedness.

“The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him? The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.” -Ecclesiastes 10:12-15.

I do not know how many times I have made the statement, “There is only one way to heaven and that is asking Jesus to save you” only to get the response, “Oh, yeah, I ask Jesus to save me everyday.” Those who really have Christ in their lives know that all it takes is one time to ask Jesus to save you and take you to heaven. Many people call salvation by grace easy believism and that it is false. It is not false, plenty of Scripture proves that the only way to heaven is by asking Jesus to save you, all it takes is one time because He died for us one time. Fools take the simplicity out of getting to heaven, they do not understand the plainest things, which makes them miss the only way to true happiness. “For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” - Hebrews 9:26-28.

The true believer is united with Christ in a union which can never be broken and by virtue of that union he is justified, sanctified and yet to be glorified. Since, his true life is hid with Christ inside of him, it is his business to mind the concerns of that world to which Christ has ascended. We are to be examples of Christ living in us. “Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.” -Colossians 3:22-25.

God is no respecter of persons, He gives all the choice to know Christ, the same fate goes to those who accept His offer likewise the same fate goes to those who reject His offer, regardless of how good they try to be. “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” - I John 5:11-13.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
