Details of Today's Reading: The impatient people cause Aaron to make a golden calf , God's anger, God repents when Moses pleads for the people, Moses breaks the tablets of stone, Moses prays for the people, Moses moves the tabernacle away from the camp, Moses sees the glory of the Lord face to face, God replaces the tablets, God's covenant renewed, and the vail of Moses.

Hello My Friend/Guest,
When I was in the third grade I had a teacher that would punish the entire class if one student disobeyed or caused a disruption in the class. I was never a person who broke the rules, at least in public, so, once in a while I would have to suffer punishment for someone else's disobedience. The Bible says, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” - II Timothy 3:12-15. The second we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are born again, in a sense we are babies all over again. Just like we learn as we grow from a baby to an adult from our parents, we learn as we grow from a babe in Christ to an adult in Christ from our Father through His Word. “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” - I Peter 2:2.

Perhaps one of the most challenging challenges as a child of God is waiting on Him, we want Him to answer immediately and when He does not we can lose our patience and try to make things happen ourselves. Now, there are some things we can do to push God along, (pray, faith, obedience) but usually when we try to go above God and do His work for Him we end up making things worse than they were. As Moses was up on the mount receiving instructions from God, some of the people were getting impatient and complained to Aaron, so, he came up with a solution to make the people happy.

“And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD. And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.” - Exodus 32:2-6.

Not only was Aaron wrong in allowing them to persuade him, he was wrong in disobeying God's first and second commandments, then he brought them in deeper sin by building an altar for it amd declaring it as God. You know, you will never make everyone you come in contact with happy. Also, if someone you know is trying to get you to do something you know is wrong to make them happy, you must know it will never make them happy. Take it from someone who has learned it the hard way, if you feel it is wrong, don't do it. It will save you from a lot of suffering later on in life. “My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not...My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood...But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.” - Proverbs 1:10,15,16,33.

When God saw the people worshiping that calf He got so angry that He was about to destroy them, but thanks to some pleading Moses convinced God not to destroy everyone. However, when Moses came back down and actually saw what what going on he got so angry himself that he broke the two tablets of stone containing the ten commandments and ordered every man that was against God to be killed. Three thousand men died that day, but the next day Moses went before God to make an atonement for the rest od the people.

“And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin. And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.” - Exodus 32:30-33.

Even in the Old Testament the people knew about the book of life. Sin keeps us from God, He hates sin so much that even the tiniest of sin keeps a person from going to heaven. One of the challenges as a child of God is to give up sin for God, but the only way to be redeemed or to receive the atonement for our sins is through the shed of blood. Jesus Christ paid the price for us, He was the perfect lamb that shed His blood so we do not have to end up in hell for that tiniest of sin. He died once, meaning we only have to ask Him once to save us, once He saves us it is forever. “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” - Hebrews 10:10-14.

An amazing thing happens when you have Christ in your life and overcome the challenges that God places before you. You begin a relationship with Him, one so strong that eventually you will be able to speak to God as if you were standing face to face with Him. Moses literally stood face to face with God, well, he wasn't allowed to see His face directly, but God stood before him while they talked. “And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses. And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door. And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle...And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest...And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. ” - Exodus 33:9-11,14,17.

Moses was not a perfect man, he had to daily offer sacrifices to God as well, he just found favor in the sight of God because he obeyed Him and when he messed up he sought forgiveness. When Moses came back from the mount the second time, as he came down the people saw this glow about him.

“And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.” - Exodus 34:30-32.

When you are living your life for God, there is a glow about you and everyone sees an amazing change in you, some people are even afraid of it, especially if they are living in sin. However, you have found favor in the sight of God because you overcame the challenges that He has placed before you. “Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;” - Philippians 2:14,15.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through God, who would always be present and give rest (33:14). “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” - Matthew 11:28,29.

Thanks and God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

King James Daily Bible Study: Dedicated to Christ

King James Daily Bible Study: Dedicated to Christ

Chapters: Exodus 29-31

Details of Today's Reading: The sacrifices and ceremony for consecration of the priests, continual burnt offerings, God's promise to dwell among Israel, the ransom of souls, Bezaleel and Aholiab are appointed and qualified for the work of the tabernacle, honoring the Sabbath, and Moses receives two tables of stone from God.

Hello My Friend/Guest,
The second a person calls on Jesus Christ to save them, they are cleansed from all the sin that they ever done. That simple acceptance of Jesus keeps you not only from going to hell, it removes all the guilt, pain, and suffering that you went through over your sins before you got saved. Praise God! The Bible says, “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” - Hebrews 10:19-22. The word consecrate is defined as to make or declare sacred, to set apart or dedicate oneself to God, to bless, and to sanctify.

God instructed Moses to teach Aaron and his sons how they were to be consecrated before they could enter the tabernacle. Daily they were to consecrate themselves before they were even allowed to enter the tabernacle.

“And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest's office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish, And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them. And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams. And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water. And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod:..And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons. And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the bullock. And thou shalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.” - Exodus 29:1-5,9-11.

Can you imagine doing this daily to stand before God? And not everyone was able to stand before God, only the priests. The job of the priest was not to confess your sins to him, it was to present the offering before God. He was the intercessor to God, the negotiator on the sinners behalf. Today, Jesus Christ is our negotiator and we no longer have to go through such preparation to meet with God. “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” - Romans 8:34. Now, we do have to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior before we can meet with God. “By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” - Hebrews 7:22-25.

The priests were to also offer daily two lambs, one in the morning and one in the evening. These offerings were to be a continual fire burning, day and night, never to go out.

“Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually. The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even: And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering. And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD. This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.” - Exodus 29:38-42.

We are to never let the fire die out for God, it is important to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice day and night. When we keep the fire burning for God something amazing happens, we send up a sweet savor to God. Now, that does not mean that you are to sit in a corner and read your pray and Bible all day long, although that would be a good thing to do once in a while, but what it does mean is that we are to keep in on our hearts all day long. “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” - Psalm 1:2,3.

Moses was also instructed to make a perfume, a perfume that would be used to communicate with God, no one was even allowed to create something that would resemble this perfume.

“And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy: And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy. And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD. Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.” - Exodus 30:35-38.

Today, the perfume we give off is the blood that we applied to our souls when we accepted Christ as our Savior.

However, if you do not know Christ, any effort you make toward God is just as the imposter perfume, He will cast anyone away who does not know His Son. “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” - I John 5:11-13.

Are you dedicated to Christ? What an amazing life becomes of those who are dedicated to Him. If you have fallen away from Him, fear not, He is still with you, He is just waiting for you to relight the fire. If you are not saved, the time is now, Jesus is calling you and promises to never leave you. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?..For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 8:35,38,39.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the Laver (30:18) which held the water to cleanse the priests. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” - I John 1:7.

Thanks and God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

King James Daily Bible Study: The Holy or Most Holy Place

King James Daily Bible Study: The Holy or Most Holy Place
Date: Wednesday January 26, 2011
Chapters: Exodus 26-28
Click Here to Read Them or Go to: http://www.imfollowingjesus.com/bible-january-26
Details of Today's Reading: God gives specific details on what materials and how to construct the Tabernacle, Aaron and his sons are appointed as priests or workers in the Tabernacle, the garments to be worn while in the Tabernacle, and ministering to the people.

Hello My Friend/Guest,
The Bible says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” - Romans 12:1,2. The word holy is defined as being sacred or blessed, belonging to, deriving from, or associated with God. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior then you are holy, blessed, and associated with God. Praise God! We are blessed in that all we have to do to be associated with God is simply ask His Son, to save us. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” - Romans 10:9. Praise God!

Before Jesus came the people needed a place to be able to reach God, So, He instructed Moses to build a tabernacle. Everything from the wood, to the curtains, to the spoons were given specific details on how tobe made and contructed. When everything is set up God would dwell above the mercy seat, a vail separated the holy place from the most holy place, where the mercy seat would be placed.

“And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:..And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.” - Exodus 26:31,33,34.

Not Moses or anyone else could see God face to face, as far as they could ever get was standing in the holy place. They or anyone else would never step foot into the most holy place. However, when Jesus came, He made a way to take down the vail. “And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” - II Corinthians 3:13-18. The vail is taken away when we allow Christ to live in us through the Spirit of the Lord, or Holy Ghost. When we accept Christ as our Savior the Holy Spirit dwells in us. In other words, we are the mercy seat God dwells upon.

God appointed Aaron and his sons, who were Levites, to be priests, Aaron would be the high priest, the one who got the closest to God. He would minister to the people and be the mediator, the one who would speak to God on their behalf. Before Aaron was able step foot in the holy place he had to wear special garments.

“And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons. And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.. And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not. And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD...And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD...And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him.” - Exodus 28:1-3,35,36,38,43.

Today, we have only one mediator to God, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” - I Timothy 2:5,6. Before we can even speak to God we need to put on Christ, who is the special garment we need to even get to the holy place. “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” - Ephesians 6:13-17.

Now, you can be in the holy place, which is doing just enough to get your foot in the door to heaven, where no one even notices that Christ is in you. Or you can be in the most holy place, which is what happens when you allow Christ to truly live in you. When you allow Christ to live in you you become a new person, all of the sinful things you use to think you could not live without are slowly replaced with godly things. “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;” - II Corinthians 5:16-18. Praise God!

Did you know that Christ has chosen you? He chose you to be a part of His life, well before God even created the earth. “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” -Ephesians 1:4-6. Isn't that amazing? When you are in the most holy place you become blessed beyond measure, if you truly want God's blessings here on earth, listen to Him, He is talking to you.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the Brasen Altar, by which the sin offerings would be placed (27:1-8). Jesus became the final sacrifice that would give an atonement for all who believe in Him. “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” - Romans 5:10,11.

Thanks and God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

King James Daily Bible Study: Have You Forgotten?
Date: Tuesday January 25, 2011
Chapters: Exodus 23-25
Click Here to Read Them or Go to: http://www.imfollowingjesus.com/bible-january-25
Details of Today's Reading: The completion of the judicial laws, feasts to the Lord, God's promises of Canaan, God command Moses to write down His Wordsm Moses is called up to the mount, the glory of the Lord appears, offerings, and a dwelling place for God.

Hello My Friend/Guest,
No matter how good we try to be we all come short of the glory of God, of seeing the splendor and bliss of heaven. The Bible says, “Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times. Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation; That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.” - Psalm 106:3-5. Have you forgotten that you are saved? That you area part of His inheritance, a child of the living God through your faith and acceptance of His Son in your life?

God promised the Israelites that He would always be watching over them, bless them, and provide protection for them as long as they abide by His law. Though it may seem as though there were a lot of rules to follow, the purpose for all the rules was to cover all the basis. It's kind of like when a set of rules is enforced because one person had to do something no one else would do so, everyone else has to get the lecture too. Three times a year the Israelites were commanded by God to prepare a feast to Him, these feasts were in remembrance of all that God had done for them.

“Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year. Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field...And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.” - Exodus 23:14-16,25.

The Passover was a reminder of their salvation when the death angel passed over them in Egypt and saved all who applied the blood of a lamb upon their doorpost. The Feast of the Harvest was to give thanks to the first harvest of the year and bless the rest of the year, and the Feast of Ingathering (Tabernacles) was to give thanks for a fruitful year of harvesting. Today, we too have feasts in remembrance of what God has done for us. We should all be reminded of the birth of Christ for without Christ there is no salvation. Every nation has some kind of celebration of a great harvest, such as Thanksgiving day, and every spring we are reminded of our Savior as Jesus became the lamb that would give His life and resurrect three days later to save all who apply His blood upon their souls.“For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” - I Timothy 4:4,5.

God instructed Moses to write down all that He told him in a book, it was to be read to all, after he wrote down God's Word he built an altar and offered offerings to God. God used forty men, beginning with Moses to write down the words He told them to write. “The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.” - Psalm 68:11.

“And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD. And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.” - Exodus 24:4-8.

There is nothing more precious than blood, it is what sustains life, without it we would die, it is the most precious thing to God. The entire Book is about life giving blood. The blood of animals was temporarily offered to sustain life, but it was not something that lasted. Jesus Christ came to offer Himself as a mere animal in order to sustain life for eternity. Just one sprinkle of that blood is all we need to sustain our lives. “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?..And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission... So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” - Hebrews 9:14,22,28. Praise God!

God sent Moses up on the mount to retrieve the tablets of stone, as the people stood afar they saw something amazing and scary. “And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them...And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.” - Exodus 24:12,15-18.

Did you ever look directly into the sun? It is so bright and amazing that it just hurts your eyes and blinds you. Did you ever notice a thunder storm? It is so amazing and scary, first you hear the loud crash of thunder, then the bolt of lightening appears. Now, imagine that as God. That is the glory of the Lord. The word glory means great beauty, magnificence, and splendor, the bliss and splendor of heaven. The glory of the Lord is so beautiful, so amazing, yet a little scary, but to see His glory is to know that our great and mighty God is never far and always watching over us. You no longer come short of the glory of God because you have the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ upon your soul. “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” - Hebrews 13:20,21. Praise God!

God instructed Moses to build a place for Him to dwell. “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering...And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.” - Exodus 25:1,2,8,9.

Today, God does not dwell upon any building, He dwells in every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” - I Corinthians 3:16,17. Now, if you are living in sin you can be sure that God has turned His back on you. He does not want to see you sin in the body that He dwells in and you can be sure that you will be convicted until you repent.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the ark, the tabernacle. “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” - Hebrews 9:11,12.

Thanks and God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

Details of Today's Reading: God speaks from Mount Sinai and speaks the ten commandments, the laws and judgments of God.

Hello My Friend/Guest,
The word law is defined as the principles and regulations established in a community by some authority and applicable to its people, whether in the form of legislation or of custom and policies recognized and enforced by judicial decision. Our authority is God, whether we choose to believe that or not, God is in control of everything. Our judge is Jesus Christ and one day Jesus will return and when He does we will all stand before our Him in a court of law. The people are every soul God created. The Bible says, “For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” - Romans 2:11-13. To be justified means to be cleared of all the charges. When you stand before Jesus, will you be cleared of all the charges against you?

I am not going to be the first to tell you that I understand all of the laws that God enforced, but I can tell you that whatever God does it is for a purpose and all He is really out to get from us is someone who is faithful and has some morals about them. God Himself spoke to the Israelites from a mountain, He told them His first ten commandments.

“And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” - Exodus 20:1-6.

The very first command is not to place any other gods before Him, gods are not necessarily literal gods, but people, careers, hobbies, sports, addictions. Anything that takes top priority above God is seen as a god to Him. Look at it this way, God sees us as partners in a marriage, a marriage is simply a union between two people. So, the second you call on Jesus Christ to save you you enter a marriage with Him, a union. If you are married or are in a relationship with someone then you know the second they even talk to someone who has been flirty with them you get jealous. God is the same way, He wants you faithful to Him. Jesus said, “There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” - Mark 10:29,30.

Incidentally, do you see all the statues out there representing heaven and hell? More importantly heaven, people bow down to them all the time. All of them, including the virgin Mary, angels, and crucifixes are graven images that we are not to bow down to. Mary was not a saint, she was just like you and I, she just found favor with God as He does everyone who is faithful to Him. Crucifixes are a representation of Christ dying on the cross, He is no longer on the cross nor in the grave, therefore, we are to bow down to the living God, not a cross that He is no longer on. “Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.” - Leviticus 26:1. It is good to have these images to show us all that Jesus went through and remind us what He did for us, they are visuals not to be worshiped, but only to be recognized.

As the Israelites heard the thundering, lightening, and all the noise they were scared and were afraid to even speak to God, but Moses calmed them down, told them not to be afraid, and explained to them why God was enforcing these laws.

“And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was. And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven. Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.” - Exodus 20:18-24.

God hates sin, yes, He is a forgiving God, but He rather us not sin at all than have to go before Him in constant confession. God enforces laws upon us to protect us and keep us from hurting ourselves. We are the ones who suffer from the stupid mistake we make, but we do not have to. We are to daily offer ourselves as a living sacrifice, in doing so, we not only keep ourselves from falling into sin, God will truly bless us for it too. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” - Romans 12:1,2.

The next two chapters are about God's judgments upon the people over servants, neighbors, possessions, and even morality. “Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them...And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.” - Exodus 21:23-26. This is an illustration of reaping what you sow, while God gets the vengeance, what ever you do to someone will come back at you. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” - Galatians 6:7-9.

Today, if you stood before God, would you be cleared of all the charges that are brought before you? You can be. Simply call on Jesus and ask Him to save you. Only by the grace of God can we be justified. “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” - Galatians 2:16.

Why are we now justified by grace and not the law? God saw that no matter how much He tried to enforce the laws that there were not keeping people from committing sin, which death is the penalty for sin. Therefore, He sent Jesus to save us rather than trying to follow all these rules. Now, just because we are saved that does not mean that it is just a get out of jail for free card. If you are saved and still living in sin, God will place judgment upon you before He allows you to come to paradise. “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.” - I Peter 4:17-19.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the Ten Commandments. Jesus was perfect and without sin and also gave us a new Commandment, "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." John 13:34.

Thanks and God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

Details of Today's Reading: Water from a rock, at war with Amalek, Moses' father-in-law visits and brings his wife and kids, Moses gets help, and God appears on Mount Sinai.

Hello My Friend/Guest,
I use to think that if I wanted something done right I needed to do it myself or that I could get it done faster without anyone getting in my way. I come to realize two things over the years: 1. Many hands make light work. 2. I am not invincible. We when get to heaven we are not going to tire out our bodies, but while we live in the flesh we just simply can not do everything by ourselves all the time. Do you know the reason why so many people are unhealthy, overweight, or depressed? They take on too much thinking they can handle it by themselves and when they fail they beat themselves up over it. The Bible says, “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.” - Ecclesiastes 4:9,10. We all need a helping hand from time to time, we always need God's hand in things, but sometimes we need the help of others as well.

Moses had the great task of leading the entire group of Israelites from Egypt to Canaan, God did appoint his brother Aaron to help him, but other than that he pretty much handled everything on his own. I am sure that Moses was pretty tired at the end of the day after dealing with the burdens and complaints of so many. Moses would soon find out that maybe he needed a little help. Even in the wilderness they had enemies, they were fighting with the Amalekites.

“Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.” - Exodus 17:8-12.

As long as Moses held up the rod God helped them and they were winning, but the second Moses put his hand down God stopped helping them and the Amalekites were defeating them. However, when Aaron and Hur helped him through his weakness they prevailed. It was not the rod that gave them the victory or that God was not with them because he did not hold up the rod, it was looking to God that gave them the victory. Whenever Moses held up the rod he was looking to God, but when he became weak and let the rod down he took his eyes off God and they failed. Our faith in God is like a roller coaster, sometimes it is up and sometimes it is down, and when it gets down we can take our eyes off Him. With the help of other believers encouraging us we get stronger in our faith and will prevail. “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.” - Romans 15:1-3.

When Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, heard all that God was doing for the Israelites and that they were now free he met up with him. He was pleased to see all that God had done, but was a bit disturbed to see that Moses was taking on all the burdens of the people all by himself.

“And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians...And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening...And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good. Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone. Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God: And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.” - Exodus 18:10,13,17-20.

Moses did what Jethro suggested, he taught and appointed people to take on most of the burdens of the people, except for the things that really needed his attention.

“And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves. And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.” - Exodus 18:25-27.

We all need help from others, it is wise to teach others what we know, we are not invincible and we will not be around forever, so, it is important that we teach others so they can continue to do what we have worked so hard to accomplish. “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;” - II Timothy 2:24,25.

We all need God's help, in everything that we do, God promises to always be there for us when we keep His covenant. “And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.” - Exodus 19:3-6.

What is our covenant with God today? Trusting in His Son, Jesus Christ, and allowing Him to live through us. Jesus said, “Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” - John 14:11-13. Even Jesus needs our help, Jesus knew that He was not always going to be here on earth to reach everyone with the Gospel. Therefore, He entrusts believers to go out and do what He did here on earth as well. In fact, He knew that we would reach even more people that He would. Why? We believe in Him by faith, we did not get to see Him in the flesh, so, it is by our faith in Him that He lives in us and others see it and learn of Him. And another thing, if we stopped telling people about Jesus millions of people would end up in hell because they have no one to teach them the truth.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the Rock and the Water. “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” - John 4:10.

Thanks and God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
