Hello My Friend,

Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” -John 3:3. The term born again is given to a person who receives Jesus Christ as their Savior, so, the believer that is depending only on Jesus Christ to take them to the Kingdom of God has two birthday's. One being the flesh birth, the second being the spiritual birth and just like a child born of the flesh requires the proper care for them to grow healthy a child of the spirit requires the proper care for it to be healthy. “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” - I Peter 2:2-5.

I forgot to include in my message yesterday that we all grow at different levels in our Christianity, so, as we read God's Word with the Holy Spirit's guidance He reveals the truth to us according to our capacity to take it all in. It's just like going to school, you cannot expect to know how to do algebra in the first grade, therefore, God reveals things to us according to our grade level. However, every Christian from a babe is taught from spiritual birth that they are saved by grace, that is unless they have been taught a false gospel. In Paul's letter to the Galatians he reminds them, as their spiritual father, that they are not saved under the law of the flesh.

“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you. Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband...So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.” -Galatians 4:19-27,31.

There are many religions that enforce strict commands or doctrine that goes against God's Word. Law and grace are an impossible mixture, for salvation is wholly by faith in Christ and our sonship is immediately testified to in the heart by the incoming of the Holy Spirit, upon the basis of Christ’s finished work as the full satisfaction of the law. Let us not, therefore, fall again in bondage to the legality of the law, which is merely an element of salvation to reveal to us the sinfulness of our nature and the impossibility of saving ourselves. A saved person is not subject to the bondage of the law of the flesh, Jesus set us free from that. Jesus said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free...Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” -John 8:32,34-36.

The word liberty is defined as freedom, freedom from captivity, bondage, or restraint, if you have accepted Christ as your Savior you can rejoice because you have the truth in you and it made you free. Free from hell, free from Satan, and free from any bondage or guilt you have had of your past. Praise God! Wait a minute, are you sure you are free? Is there something from your past or even going on now that continues to hold you bondage. Even though we are saved, Satan loves to hold us down and keep us in bondage to our weaknesses, fears, and failures in life, but we do not have to live in bondage, it's time to come out of captivity and be free from all your burdens, guilt, shame, weaknesses, and fears. Paul explains this further.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love...This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law...If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.” -Galatians 5:1-6,16-18,25,26.

Since we are justified only by faith in Christ Jesus, not by the righteousness of the law, let us not again stand in fear of and bondage to legal ordinances. While our salvation is settled by the work of Christ, the conflict of sin which still wars in the believer, may be settled by yieldedness to the Holy Spirit, Who is present in the believer to subdue the fleshly nature and to bear heavenly fruit through our lives. “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” -Romans 15:13.

The cross which connects us with God separates us from the world. Having died with Christ we should therefore be done with the world. Having risen with Christ, we are connected with God in a new life. We cannot glory in the benefits Christ’s cross secures us with if we refuse the rejection which His cross involves. Paul explains this further.

“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap...For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” - Galatians 6:1-7,15-17.

While our works of righteousness cannot save us, they can help us grow as strong, faithful men and women of God. The new life in Christ is not simply one of being good, but of doing good. It manifests itself, not by taking a “more holier than thou” attitude, but by bearing the burdens of others and seizing every opportunity to help saints and save sinners. Christ set you free when He died on the cross for you, if you believe that then there is hope for you to get out of any situation you are in. He can bring you out of bondage, however, you must let Him help you, He is the only one who can. Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30. You put your trust in Jesus to set you free from hell, put your trust in Him to set you free from whatever it is that you are in bondage to. He is there for you, just go to Him.

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
The burden in which I am carrying is too much for me to handle, I have tried so long to handle it in my own way, but I keep failing. I need You, Lord. Take the weight of my burdens off me, give me the peace I know only comes from You as I hand them all over to You. Open my eyes, ears, and heart to receive Your guidance and answers to my many questions. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
