A Sacred Marriage

Message Title: A Sacred Marriage

Hello My Friend,

Marriage, a union, a vow, a covenant between a man and woman, marriage is very sacred to God, in fact, it is so sacred that He calls those who believe in and accept His Son His bride. When you think about it, the second a person receives Christ there is a ring placed on that soul, a ring of blood, and this ring cannot be removed, even if we tried. His blood is the most precious gift we can ever receive from this marriage, and it is something that will last for eternity. “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:” - 1 Peter 1:18,19.

There is more to a marriage with Jesus than just salvation of our souls, just like any marriage it grows the closer we get to Him. A person who is growing closer to Christ truly stands out from the rest, even those in the world see Him in them, they might not know that it is Him, but they know there is something different. Through Isaiah, God reveals the blessings that come to a soul that unites with His Son.

For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed. I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” - Isaiah 61:7-10.

Before we come to know Jesus and join in marriage, we are lost, confused, and full of guilt and shame from sin. The good that we try to do never erases the bad, it literally haunts us forever, that is until we meet Jesus. Once we accept Him as our Saviour we are forgiven, set free from all that guilt and shame because He covers us with His robe of righteousness. “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” - Romans 6:16-18.

Now, Jesus speaks to those who believe in Him and accept Him, He has an amazing gift that God Himself will give to all who join Him in marriage. “For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.” - Isaiah 62:1-4.

Hephzibah, my delight is in her, Beulah, married, Jesus is saying if you trust in me, believe in me, and receive me than I will delight in You, my bride. God delights in every soul that receives His Son, they are no longer alone and will never be forsaken. Does God delight in all the things we do? No. He delights in our souls, because that is what is saved, and once His Son returns we will receive our crown and even have a new name. All the trials and tribulations we endure as a Bride of Christ will be worth the amazing gifts awaiting us when He comes to get us. “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” - James 1:12,17,21.

A marriage with Christ is not like one between a husband and wife, yes it is sacred, and it takes a lot of effort and love to make it grow and bloom into something beautiful, but this is a spiritual marriage. Many people know of Him, and even believe that He died for man, but they do not all accept Him. Through Isaiah we find Jesus speaking to Israel about Judgment Day. He reveals a prophecy of the Jews rejecting the Messiah, who had become their adversary instead of Saviour.

And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth. I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.” - Isaiah 63:5-10.

The only begotten Son of God became the Angel or Messenger of His love, He redeemed them, yet they were never happy, despising and persecuting His prophets, and eventually rejecting and crucifying the promised Messiah. Many of the Jews still acknowledge God's great mercies and favors to their nation, but fail to recognize Christ as the Messiah they have been waiting for. Jew or Gentile, we are not exempt from judgment unless we are joined with the Saviour. “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.”- 1 Corinthians 12:12-14.

Today's Prayer: Jesus, You are my Lord and Savior, I believe in the sacrifice that You made for me, and the day I accepted You as my Saviour was the day You put Your ring of salvation on me. One day I will join You at the marriage feast, I know my works do not get me into heaven, but they do show You how much I love You. Lord, lead me and guide me, let me enter and remain under Your wings, protected and comforted in Your loving arms, at all times. Never let me forget that I am Yours and You are mine and no matter what I have done or will do that that will never change. I love You, Lord and ask this in Your name, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
