Message Title: It's Okay To Be Broken

Hello My Friend,

To the Christian who walks with Christ daily, there is something comforting in knowing that we are protected by God Himself. Oh, we may face some trials, some of which we bring upon ourselves, but we know that He never leaves nor forsakes us. To the world who ignores God, there is something tormenting in hearing what they are doing is wrong, for deep down they know there is a hell and don't want to be in it any more that we do. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” - Hebrews 4:12.

The word of God is quick, and powerful, no other book in the world has the power of God's book, it is life for those who believe it and death for those who do not. Don't let the world fool you, they know God exists, they know there is conviction in it, and that is why they have taken it out of our schools, it the court rooms, and even the churches. Amos is among the many prophets that God sent to the Northern Kingdom to get them to turn from their false gods and turn to Him, so, nothing he said was new to them. Through Amos, God upbraids Israel for were ignoring the warnings of their judgment and continuing in their ways.

Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came! Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border? Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near; The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.” - Amos 6:1-3,8.

I abhor the excellency of Jacob, they forgot their God, and prided themselves on what they had made out of the kingdom, including their false gods. God takes pride in a nation that prospers under Him because He built it from the ground up, but He's a jealous God and will have no other gods before Him. time and time again, history reveals what comes of a nation who turns their back to God. “Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.” - Matthew 21:42-44.

And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken, Christ is a stone of stumbling, He is the foundation and corner stone for fallen souls who believe in Him. Those who fall on Him shall be broken from the bondage of sin, of dead works, and of the judgment placed upon them to be fit for the Kingdom of God. The world and many who base their salvation on their works or other gods do not want to hear this truth. They don't want to leave their sin filled life and turn to Christ. Again, all that Amos was saying was not new news to them, in fact, a priest was trying to stop him and send him back to Judah. Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words. For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land. Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.” - Amos 7:10-13.

The world and even many churches do everything they can to push away the truth from those who are seeking it. There will come a time when people are going to be so desperate to hear from God, but He will not be found. God speaks of a time when people will wander the world in search of His Word, we know this to be the dark ages. “And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.” - Amos 8:8-12.

Many people claim to call themselves Christians, yet are far from being close to one. They have no regard for what Christ has done for them or for God's Word, they continue living in sin, and try to conform to the world instead of Christ. Through Amos, God tells them that He is always watching them, He is going to destroy Israel, but not all of it. “Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD. For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us. In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.” - Amos 9:8-11,15.

They Jews have the mentality to think that they can hide their sins, do whatever they please as though they were just like David, and get away with it because they were God's chosen. Christians have that same mentality, only they believe they salvation justifies their behavior. A lot of people misread God's Word when He says that all of Israel will be restored. What God means by this is that the nation of Israel will be restored and Christ will reign from Jerusalem. He will resurrect all for judgment, Jew and Gentile, those who received Christ receive eternal life, those who do not receive eternal death. “Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;” - Romans 2:9-12.

Today's Prayer: God, As we apply Christ’s redemptive blood to our souls we find the newness of life. What great liberty and joy to know that our names are written down in heaven. If we set our hearts on this world we will wear down and lose the joy that comes with the new life you have given us. Lead us and guide us, give is Your power to resist the temptation to seek other means for our needs, but look solely upon You as You supply all our needs according to Your riches, Keep us in Your Word, help us to learn it and follow it to keep from falling into this wicked world, In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
