Message Title: Becoming A Child of God

Hello My Friend,

The Book of John is the forty-third book of the Bible, the forth book of the Gospel of Christ and of the New Testament, and contains twenty-one chapters. The author of the book is John, a disciple of Jesus (not John the Baptist), and it was written to All believers, to whom John portrays Jesus as the Son of God. The timeline for these events took place approximately between 30 and 34AD. The purpose of the book was to show All that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and only way to eternal life. What we are to learn from the book is Jesus is the Christ, the Saviour, and Son of the only living God, who is also God and the only source to everlasting life. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” - John 14:6.

Through the eyes of man, John the Baptist would have been six months older than Jesus, as his mother, Elisabeth gave birth to him six months before her cousin Mary, gave birth to Him. Through the eyes of the sons of God, Jesus was, is, and always will be, not only the begotten Son of God, but God Himself in the flesh. John was inspired by God to reveal to us that Jesus has always been, and we are not born into the family of God by natural conception, but by believing in the Son of God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” - John 1:1,4,9-14.
But as many as received him” The only way we can become a son or child of God is by believing in and receiving the Son of God. “And the Word was made flesh,” God is three individual persons, but still one and only one living God. He has three different and specific roles, God the Father, Creator of all things, but Father to all who believe in the Son, Jesus the Son (the Word), who became the atoning sacrifice needed to redeem a soul bound for hell, and the Holy Spirit, who, lives in each believer and becomes their conscious. Each person serves a specific purpose, but He is still one God. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” - 1 John 5:4-7.

The nature of true sons of God is following Jesus, devoting ourselves to Him, and walking in His steps. Most of the Jews denied Jesus as the Messiah, but those who did believe followed Him and He accepted all who followed Him, including a man named Nathanael, who became one of His disciples. “Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel. Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.” - John 1:47-51.

in whom is no guile!” Guile, trickery or deceit, Jesus allows all to willingly follow Him, but He also knows those who truly believe or are just tricking or deceiving others. Many churches claim to believe and teach Christ, but they refuse to believe He is God, and that always has been. If we are going to be a child of God we must come to Him through the Son. The animal sacrifices that came under the Law of Moses to redeem a soul was not the actual blood that would provide permanent redemption, it was merely a visage to hide sin. Jesus does more than hide sin, He completely and utterly removes it once we receive Him. “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” - Hebrews 10:4,19,20,22.

Yes Jesus may have had thousands of people following Him, but He knew the true believers and this was revealed when the Jews (here it is revealed that Jesus is not really a Jew) questioned Him about the temple. “Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said. Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.” - John 2:18-25.

because he knew all men” Man, those who harden their hearts to the truths of God. Jesus knows all, and He knew exactly what they were trying to do. The sons of man have no problem using Jesus as a vice to make themselves rich, hence false religion, but sooner or later all who use Him for their own glory will have a huge awakening. Just because they talk about Jesus that does not mean they believe who He is, we must believe to become a son or child of God. “If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” - 1 John 5:9-13.

Today's Prayer: God, It is often said that seeing is believing, well, I for one know that to be true, but not as the world would see, but as You would see. I may not have seen Your Son in person the day I believed in Him, but I have seen what Your Son has done in my life since making Him a part of it. Just like the miracle of birth, You created another miracle in my spiritual birth, and while I may not always understand Your ways, I do understand that You love us so much, that Your only option to save us was to give Your own through Your Son. Today, I do not want to ask You for anything, I just to thank You and praise You for being my God, my Father, and my Saviour. In Jesus' name, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
