Genesis: Preserved Life

Chapters: Genesis 10-12
Message: Genesis: Preserved Life

Hello My Friend,

Human life is very important to God, after all, He created us in His image, meaning we are the only living beings with a soul. Eternal life is also very important, after all, He sent His only begotten Son to die for us so that all who believe in Him can live with Him forever. It's depressing to see the way people disregard, as if it means nothing. God created each and every one of us for a reason, and we have no right, whether it be in or out of the womb, to take a life, and those who do will be accountable.

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” - Psalms 139:13-17.

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me,” Yep, God had a plan for each and every one of us. Sadly, we are the ones who hinder Him from fulfilling it. Do you think He finds joy is seeing the creation He made in His own image die and end up in hell? No, He does not. Do you think He wanted to destroy the earth with the flood along with millions of people? No, He did not, if any of them would have believed, they too would have been saved. However, only eight people did, and it was those eight people that God used to preserve life.

Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood. The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram. These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.” - Genesis 10:1,2,22,32.

and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.” Japheth's descendants make up those of European descent, these would be the generations that follow the Jews in seeking a relationship with God. The descendants of Ham, these would be of African descent, also Canaan, who was cursed by Noah to be servants. The descendants of Shem make up what is known as the Israelites or Jews. God's emphasis was in the lineage from which the Jews, particularly Arphaxad came, as they would not only become His chosen people, but Jesus would be incarnated from them as well. God will use any believing soul to preserve life, and He will continue to create and sustain life until the very last soul to believe in His Son is saved.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” - 2 Peter 3:9,10.

So many people believe in heaven, and even believe that they will be there when they die, but they do not want to do it God's way. The truth is there is only one way to get to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ, but sadly, people make up their own beliefs. Now, with eight people seeing the miracles and wrath of God you would think that there was some fear in them to live right and trust only God. However, once Noah died, all that changed as they scattered the earth and began establishing their own beliefs, including building a tower to reach heaven.

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.” - Genesis 11:1-8.

and there confound their language,” God gave them different languages so they could not understand each other. Did you know that God has a language all of His own? He does, and the only people who understand it is those who are saved and following His Word. Theologians claim they know the Bible, but cannot explain the simplest things from it, scholars claim to know history, but cannot explain the miraculous things that happened over time, scientist claim to know everything, but cannot explain simple creation. God makes everything simple, trust me, believe in my Son, and live in my Word, man makes everything complicated.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” - Romans 1:22-25.

You know, before the Bible was penned down, people did not have a book to guide and teach them about God. Instead they had to rely totally upon their faith, and the few people He spoke through. Of course, they made mistakes along the way, but it was through sin, trial, and error that they learned to not only trust God, but believe in His Son as well. Now, we begin the lineage from which the Jews would descend and who God would preserve the lineage from which Jesus would descend.

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.” - Genesis 12:1-7.

and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” In reality, the generation of God, is not a particular race or religion, it is a generation of believers, those who believe in and receive God's only begotten Son as their only way to heaven and eternal life. Being a child of God does not mean we will never make mistakes, it does mean we have a great and merciful Father, who will love us, chasten us, and grow us into the image of His Son, if we come to Him. “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” - 1 Peter 5:10.

Today's Prayer: God, As Your children, it is Your desire that we stay faithful to Your teachings. Scripture gives many examples of those who knew to do right, but chose to do wrong. The consequences of their actions caused a great deal of loss, life-long regret, and emotional pain, not only for themselves, but others as well. Help us avoid the traps Satan has set for Your children by not only reading Your Word, but applying its truth to our lives, and standing firm when the temptation to do wrong is ever before us. Help me to present my body, mind, and voice before You as a living sacrifice, holy, upright, and honorable to You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
