Details of Today's Chapters: The Spirit of life, heirs with God, hope, intercession through Christ, God's elect, the Holy Spirit in believers, and the importance of hearing God's word preached,

Hello My Friend/Guest,

The spirit is the inner being by which we have life, without spirit inside of us we have no life in us. Now, this is true physically and spiritually. In yesterday's reading we learned that when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit it caused a spiritual death. What this means is that when a person is born he is not born with the spirit of God in him, therefore, we are born with flesh and soul, but are dead in spirit. “For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” - Romans 6:10,11. Jesus died for us once, therefore we only need to ask Him once to save us and the second we do we are no longer dead in spirit, but receive the Spirit of God which means to be born again of the Spirit. Jesus said, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God...That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” - John 3:3,6.

Paul explains this further, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. ” - Romans 8:1-5. Once we receive the Spirit of God, also known as the Holy Spirit, we no longer walk in the flesh, but in the Spirit. Now, it would be impossible to walk in the Spirit all on our own, that is why the Holy Spirit indwells us.

Then the Holy Spirit begins to help us overcome our infirmities (afflictions, trials, sinful habits). “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” - Romans 8:26-30.

The word intercession means to pray for or plead on behalf of a person, the Holy Spirit, who is Christ in the Spirit, prays for us and pleads to God on our behalf. Isn't that awesome! God uses every circumstance we face and puts it to good use, so, even if we mess up, He makes that error and makes it a blessing. Think about it, most of us learn from our mistakes and are able to help and warn others from them, that is a blessing. “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” - James 4:10.

Once we receive Christ nothing can take us away from Him. He died for you and you took knowledge of that and trust in Him to save you from hell therefore, nothing, not even falling into sin can make Him leave you. “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:37-39.

Now, if we do fall, Christ might not respond to us for a while and let us suffer a bit, but He never leaves us and is always right there listening for us to repent and seek Him for help. “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” -Revelation 3:19,20. God is so amazing, no matter how many times we mess up, He is always there to help us out of the mess when we repent.

God knows the heart, He also knows who are is, if we by the bottom of our heart accepted Christ as our Savior we are heirs with God and one with Him. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.” - Romans 10:9-12. Praise God!

Be blessed, enjoy the rest of your day/night and the rest of your weekend.
God bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
