New Jerusalem

King James Daily Bible Study Devotional Message Title: New Jerusalem Date: Monday September 12, 2011 Chapters: Ezekiel 40-42, Proverbs 12, Psalm 91 Click Here to Read Them or Go to: http://imfollowingjesus.com/bible-september-12 Hello My Friend/Guest, “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel...After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.” - Revelation 7:1-4,9,10. When Jesus returns, and the tribulation ends, He is going to establish His kingdom on the very throne where David sat, a remnant of both Jews and Gentiles of all nations joining together, chosen by God Himself, to live forever in a sin free, pain free, glorious kingdom in New Jerusalem. This remnant are none other than those who accepted the Lord Jesus Christ personally as their Savior. They will be clothed with the robes of pureness, justification, holiness, and victory; with palms in their hands, as conquerors appearing before their triumphs. Such a glorious appearance will the faithful servants of God make at last, when they have fought the good fight of faith, and finished their course. With a loud voice they shout praises to God and the Lamb of salvation; the Father planned this salvation, the Son purchased it, and those who enjoy it must and will bless the Lord and the Lamb, who without His shed blood there would be no remission. Twenty five years after the Jew were taken captive in Babylon, Ezekiel received a vision from God about a glorious city that was to be built. This was no ordinary city, this was the glorious city in which Jesus Christ would reign, and within this city was the temple, far more magnificent than the temple built by Solomon. The measurements of the grounds and the many details concerning the building and its unusual architectural design are recorded, but no instructions are given to Ezekiel regarding who would build it or when it would be built unlike Moses and David got when the Tabernacle and Temple were to be built. “In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the LORD was upon me, and brought me thither. In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south. And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate. And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel...And he brought me to the north gate, and measured it according to these measures;..And the chambers and the entries thereof were by the posts of the gates, where they washed the burnt offering. And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering.” -Ezekiel 40:1-4, 35,38,39. Christ, who knew no sin, was made sin for His people; having all their sins laid upon Him. These tables are a reflection of the sacrifice Christ made when He was slain as the burnt, sin, and trespass offerings needed to be reconciled with God. This is not to be a place for actual sacrifices as was Solomon's temple, but is for a commemoration of the sacrifice that Christ made for us. “And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” - Luke 22:19,20. After God showed Ezekiel the two inner courts He took him inside the temple, where the most Holy place in the temple would be. The most Holy place in the Temple is the innermost room where the visible manifestation of God's presence dwelt. “Afterward he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle. And the breadth of the door was ten cubits; and the sides of the door were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits: and the breadth, twenty cubits. Then went he inward, and measured the post of the door, two cubits; and the door, six cubits; and the breadth of the door, seven cubits. So he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits; and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said unto me, This is the most holy place.” - Ezekiel 41:1-3. This was an emblem of the most holy and perfect state of the church on earth; it represents the New Jerusalem church state, that holy city, and into which nothing shall enter that defiles. Only those whom have applied the blood of Christ upon their soul are washed clean from anything that defiled them. While animal sacrifices only masked the sin, Christ's sacrifice washes away the sin that defiled the soul forever, making the believer capable of entering the holy city. “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,” - Revelation 1:5. Until Jesus Christ returns every person who believes in and accepts Him personally as their Savior is God's Holy Place, His temple. Since we were saved, not of the will of the flesh, but of the will of God, we are free from Satan's control and have become the Lord's holy dwelling place in the form of the Holy Spirit.“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” - I Corinthians 3:16,17. Let us praise the Lord for His indwelling Holy Spirit and enjoy that sacred privilege committed to our trust. God has great vision for all of His children, we get to enjoy eternal life with Him in not only in the Kingdom of God, but New Jerusalem too. “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” - John 20:31. Today's Prayer: Dear God, Lord, how glorious it is to enjoy freedom from sin, thanks to the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, on my behalf. My life, once enslaved to sin, now enjoys the freedom from that which once held me captive to Satan’s bondage. Let me keep serving You with love and thanksgiving, looking forward to that blessed day when I get to live with You in the Kingdom of God and later in the new holy place to come. I love You Lord and pray in Jesus' name. Amen. God Bless You, I am praying for you, Christina Are You 100% Sure That You Are Going To Heaven?
