He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand...But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.” - Matthew 13:10-13,16,17. The word vision is defined as the ability to perceive, to be aware of, with the eyes, it is easy to be aware of what we can actually see, but it gets a little harder to be aware of things we cannot. Jesus said, “Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” Whoever has the true grace of God implanted in them, meaning they believe in Christ although they have not see Him, have the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in them, and a spiritual acquaintance with the doctrines of the Gospel. Those who see the vision of Christ, shall have more grace given to them, shall grow in the knowledge of Him, and the Spirit of truth shall lead them to see beyond what they perceive with their eyes. The visions we see beyond our eyes are often based on our current circumstances, whether good or bad things are happening, we tend to use that as a guide as to what our future would be like. The truth is, everything we go through does determine our future, but it is not at all based on the circumstances, rather it is based on how we handle the circumstances. Sometimes God has a peculiar way of getting people to see beyond their eyes, people tell me that God does not speak to you like He did when He spoke to people in the Bible, but I firmly believe whatever He did for them, He can do for us. That is all apart of seeing beyond our eyes. God often spoke to people in dreams, which is how He revealed several unusual visions to Daniel. The first was a dream about four beasts. “These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows...Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces...And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.” - Daniel 7:17-20,23,25,26. These visions were a foretelling of four nations that would be the most powerful in the world, the forth being the most powerful, known as Rome, in which many nations would derive from it. That horn represents the head of the most corrupt religion of all Christian based religions, the pope being the leader of it, that will turn people against the truth. Think I am exaggerating? Look at how many religions stem off of the Catholic religion, look at their worship to Mary, look at how they add to the laws of the Bible. It is only going to get worse. Jesus called it when He said, “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves...And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” - Matthew 10:16,21,22. Out from the kingdoms of the last days a king of fierce countenance, the anti-Christ, will arise, and acting by the power of Satan, will bring transgression to the fullest. Though he will for a time prosper in his schemes, the sudden brightness of Christ’s coming will utterly destroy him. No sooner than Daniel comes to grips with the first vision here comes another one, this time it was about a ram that had two horns and goat with a horn between his eyes. “Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last. I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great. And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes...The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power...And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.” - Daniel 8:3-5,20-22,25. When Christ returns it will literally be a war between good and evil, the Christ and the Anti-Christ, God and Satan, but in the end Satan knows where he is going, along with everyone of his followers. “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” - Revelation 20:10. While Satan has power in the world right now he does not have power over Jesus Christ and those who are saved by Him. He can still get to us from time to time, but our vision is far more credible than anything that Satan can cause havoc on our lives. Our vision is none other than the kingdom of God, one day, all who put their faith and trust in the Savior will see the kingdom of God. Until then, it is important that we see beyond our current circumstances as Christ would see them, after all, He is proof that all good things come to those who diligently seek Him. “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” - Psalm 37:1-5. Today's Prayer: Dear God, Lord, in the circumstances of life’s events, may we never lose sight of You. You are the unseen, but ever-present God, who protects, guides and tenderly comforts us in all our troubles. Thank You, Lord, that when change is constantly about us, You remain steadfast, faithful, and dependable. You are the Anchor that keeps us grounded in the unseen eternal truths that we build our lives upon. Keep us faithful and help us to always believe that nothing is possible when we diligently seek our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name. Amen.
