Today's ChaptersMark 4-5
Message TitleMaking Christ Superior

Hello My Friend,

The word obey means to comply with or perform the commands, orders or instructions of a superior. Many people have trouble obeying those who are superior to them, but think about this, as unruly and wicked as the devil is, even he obeys God. If we truly want to see our lives blessed in this life and beyond, it's time we startperforming the commands of our Superior, Jesus Christ. “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” - Hebrews 12:1-3.

The news of this preacher man who was able to heal people traveled for miles, Jews and Gentiles alike were gathered to see if they can get a glimpse of Jesus in action. In fact, there were so many people that Jesus got onto a docked ship to speak to them. And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.” - Mark 4:1,21-25.

There is a light that shines within every saved soul, that light is Jesus Christ, but sadly, immoral and corrupt living often hide Him from others. While living a godly and moral life has nothing to do with our salvation, it has everything to do with leading others to Him. Why is this important? You may be the only person to lead that person to be saved from hell. We will all stand before Jesus, it's not what we do for ourselves after we are saved that rewards us in heaven, it's what we do for Jesus. “For it is written, AsI live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” - Romans 14:11,12.

After Jesus spoke to the people He and the disciples got on a ship and headed to the other side of the river. Jesus fell asleep, and while sleeping a great storm arose, fearing for their lives, they wake Him up.
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” - Mark 4:37-41.

His own disciples, the men that were close to Jesus just about every day for three years, questioned who He was, even after seeing all the miracles He had done. No wonder Jesus asked them where their faith was? Jesus very well knew that the storm would come, He was testing their faith, and He does the same to all of us. We must have faith in Him at all times, good, bad, happy, sad, mad, angry, you name it, He wants to see our faith. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” - Hebrews 11:6.

As Jesus was passing through
Gadarenes, a man possessed by the devil approached Him, he had two thousand unclean spirits in his body. Jesus immediately commanded the unclean spirits to come out of the man, they obeyed and went into a herd of pigs, which drove off of a cliff, and died. Many people witnessed what happened, but instead of embracing and accepting Jesus, they pushed Him away. And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.” - Mark 5:15-19.

Many people do not accept Jesus, not because they do not believe in who He is, they do not want Him to be Superior in there lives. When Jesus brings life to a dead soul, they change, and if they are content to live the wicked lives they are living after being saved, they suffer greatly until they repent. Look at the devil, he definitely believes who Jesus is, he might obey His commands, but he is too proud to make Him Superior. Therefore, he and everyone else who does not accept Him, will end up in the lake of fire. “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” - Revelation 20:10.

Today's PrayerJesus, I want You to be Superior in my life. Lead me and guide me, give me Your strength to live in obedience to Your commands. Lord, put Your hedge of protection around me, and keep me looking to You, let me not be tempted by the devil or anything else that tries to get me away from You. I ask these things in Your name, Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
