Message Title:
The Fullness Of God
Hello
My Friend,
The Book of Ephesians is the tenth book of the
New Testament, the forty-ninth book of the Bible, and contains six
chapters. This epistle was written by the apostle Paul from Rome, and
transcribed by a man named Tychicus to the church at Ephesus and to
all faithful in Christ, in approximately 64AD. The purpose of the
letter was to inform believers of their wealth in Christ and instruct
them concerning their walk with Christ. What we are to learn from the
book is that all who receive Christ are heirs to both the blessings
(heavenly wealth) and responsibilities (the walk) of their calling
created in them through Christ. “For we are
his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God
hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” -
Ephesians 2:10.
Many people believe that when God created
man that He made some good, some bad, and only those who He chooses
will be in heaven. This is a false teaching, while He does use some
of us for specific reasons, He doesn't choose who gets to heaven. To
explain we need to know the key word in this book, predestinated,
which means to
predetermine or foreordain. Now, there are some things
in this world that God has predetermined for all of us, we are born,
and we will die. And God does appoint all to acknowledge Him, and His
Son, but He has given everyone a gift that determines whether or not
we choose to believe in Him, free will. Free will is a choice, and
while God does want all He created to get saved, and escape hell, not
all will, but those who do are sealed in Christ.
“Blessed
be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with
all spiritual blessings in heavenly places
in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame
before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of
children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure
of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath
made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through
his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his
grace;
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the
counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his
glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted,
after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:
in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy
Spirit of promise,” - Ephesians
1:3-7,11-13.
“In
whom we have redemption through his blood,”
In love we who believe in Christ were predestinated to be adopted as
children of God by faith in Him. The reconciled and adopted believer,
the pardoned sinner, gives all the praise of their salvation to their
merciful and gracious Father. His love appointed this method of
redemption, He spared not his own Son, but brought believers to hear
and embrace His salvation.
If you have been struggling and think you have failed God, think
again. Look how far you have come since having chosen to live your
life with Christ in it. Paul reminds us of where we were before we
knew Christ and why we know Him today. “And
you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein
in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now
worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had
our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling
the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the
children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for
his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) That
at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus
ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”
- Ephesians 2:1-5,12,13.
“hath
quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”
It is only by God's grace that we are saved, but by living for Christ
we are able yo overcome every foolish thing we ever did before we
received Him and even the ones yet to come. Christ changes us for the
better, he gets rid of all the junk that causes unnecessary
suffering, temptation, and shame, including people that keep us from
living for Him. He doesn't leave us with nothing, He replaces them
with a new outlook on life, blessings beyond measure, and gives us
hope, joy, and peace through every trial we face. “Peace
I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth,
give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be
afraid.” - John 14:27.
Even
when walking in God's will, we are going to enter some trials and
tribulation, and the only way that we will be able to overcome them
is through Jesus. Paul tells us not to question our trials, that they
are used to show the power of God in each and every one of us.
“For this cause I bow my
knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole
family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you,
according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might
by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts
by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to
comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and
depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth
knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now
unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we
ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” -
Ephesians 3:14-20.
“that ye might
be filled with all the fulness of God.” God's
will is not always about trials and tribulations, it's about joys and
precious promises being fulfilled. While God does allow us to face
some challenges, they will all come to pass and through them we will
be filled with the fullness of
God. “Beloved, think it not strange
concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some
strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are
partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be
revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached
for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of
God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your
part he is glorified.” - 1 Peter
4:12-14.
Today's Prayer:
God, Your mercy and grace for us is beyond measure, it's just amazing
to think of what kind of life I lived before You were in it, and how
You have completely changed it. Over the years You have brought
peace, hope, and even joy to my life through my trials. Lord, I know
I am going to mess up again no matter how much I try not to, but Your
mercy endures forever. Lead me and guide me, search me and open my
heart to discover anything that is keeping me out of Your will.
Strengthen me and grow me as I seek Your will, looking only to You
for wisdom and guidance while You are pleased to keep me here on
earth. In Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying
for you,
Christina

Message Title: God Made It Possible
Hello My Friend,
I make a bridal shower cake and it came our absolutely beautiful, I posted it all over Facebook. Every time I have great success in something I tear up, not because I did such a great job, but because I know without God it would not be possible. You see, God wants us to do a job well done, after all we are His kids and He is just as proud as every parent who sees their child succeed, but He also wants us to be humble about it. Be proud of the abilities that God gave you to do the job, but not too proud that we forget that God made it possible. “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.” - 1 Corinthians 10:31-33.
“but the profit of many, that they may be saved.” Our successes in life draw crowds, many from the world, and while we may make a profit on those of the world, our main focus is not to make money, but to see people get saved, and God will take care of the rest. We must be careful when seeking careers and or provisions, there are just some things we need to stay away from. We don't just serve God in the church, everywhere we go we serve Him, and if we are doing something questionable, it's God we have to answer. Paul came concerned with the Galatians when he heard that they were drawing back to worldly and wicked behavior.
“Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all. Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” - Galatians 4:7-12,16.
“Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.” I have to admit that there was a time in my life before I followed Christ, that I read tarot cards, and oh they were so accurate, but I didn't live by them as true. One day something really weird happened and I knew right then it was wicked and immediately got rid of everything I had concerning them. Horoscopes, fortune telling, tarot, physics, these are all from the devil, following these things is stepping into very dangerous territory and will bring judgment from God. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” - Galatians 6:7.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour you can rejoice because you're free. Free from hell, free from the devil, free from the guilt of sin, and free from bondage to the world. Praise God! Wait a minute, are you sure you're free? This is where many Christians keep themselves in bondage, they want a better life and know that they need to do something to change it, but out of fear, rebellion, or rejection by others, they allow the world to keep controlling them. Paul stresses the importance of never using our abilities to satisfy our own fleshly lusts.
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.” - Galatians 5:1,13-18.
“Walk in the Spirit,” Is there something from your past or even going on right now that continues to hold you bondage? Even though we are saved, the devil loves to keep us in bondage to our weaknesses, fears, desires, and failures in life, by walking in the Spirit we can beat the devil down. It's time to come out of captivity and be free from all our burdens, including, any guilt, shame, weaknesses, and fears. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” - Romans 8:14-17.
We can give thanks to God that through our faith in Jesus Christ we are no longer under the bondage of dead works. Now, we are filled with the Holy Spirit and He allows us to be fruitful in all that we do as we grow in Christ and give Him the glory for all the success we have. We must realize that we are not replaceable, we are blessed as we follow Christ in all that we do, but if we lose sight of Him we will be replaced. Paul reminds the Galatians that while they are to do everything with the best of quality and their abilities, but not to forget that their glory comes from God.
“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” - Galatians 6:1-6,14.
“But let every man prove his own work,” While our godly works in the world can't save us, they can help us grow as strong, faithful men and women of God. A life with Christ is not simply one of being good, but of doing good for the glory of God. It manifests itself, not by taking a “more holier than thou” attitude, but by bearing the burdens of others and seizing every opportunity to help fellow saints and reach others with the Gospel. As God blesses us with success let us bless others through our faith in Christ. “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” - Psalms 1:1-3.
Today's Prayer: God, thank You for setting me free from the bondage of sin the world when I came to You and trusted Your Son as my Saviour. Lord, I want everything I do to be for Your glory, as I know that without You I am nothing and any success I have will be worthless one day. The burden I am carrying right now is too much for me to handle, I have tried so long to handle it in my own way, but keep failing. I need You, Lord. Take the weight of my burdens off me, give me the peace I know only comes from You as I live for You. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

Justified By Faith
King
James Bible Daily Devotion – Learning
Scripture One Day At A Time
Date: Wednesday, December 02, 2015
Chapters: Galatians 1-3
Message Title: Justified By Faith
Hello My Friend,
The Book of Galatians is the ninth book of the New Testament, forty-eighth book of the Bible, and contains six chapters. The author of this epistle (letter) is Paul and it was written to the believers of Galatia. Paul wrote this letter during his third trip to Corinth, around 60AD. The purpose of the letter was to correct the false teaching of Jewish legalism that got mixed in and was now a part of the Christian Church. What we are to learn from the book is that Christ ended the need to be justified by the law, we are justified by faith alone in the finished work of Christ on the cross, and not by our own works. “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” - Galatians 2:16.
I told you about this stupid movie I was watching about Mary and Jesus, the focus of the story was Mary, and it like many today portray her as being perfect and sinless. Can I tell you that Mary was a sinner just like the rest of us. She too had to believe in the promise that the baby God placed in her would save her from hell. She wasn't perfect, but she did have God's favor. Yes, she followed the law of Moses while she reared up Jesus because they were still under the law then, but she was headed for the same punishment as the rest of us if she didn't believe. The churches of Galatia were formed by both converted Jews and Gentiles, somehow the Gospel got distorted and the churches began following another gospel, which stated that a person was saved and only remained justified of their salvation by continued works of the law. Paul fusses at the Galatians for altering the Gospel, reminding them that there is only one Gospel, and that we are not saved by any works of the law.
“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” - Galatians 1:6-12.
“or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel” Not everyone who claims to know Christ and be saved are of Christ, there are many fallen angels our there working for the devil deceiving people into believing their gospel. There is only one gospel and that is the death, burial, and resurrection of our sinless Saviour. Jesus did away with the need to follow the law of Moses with His death, He was the final atoning perfect lamb sacrifice needed for the death angel to passover all who have His blood applied to our souls. “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:” - 1 Peter 1:18,19.
Justified, To prove or show to be just, or conformable to law. To pardon and clear form guilt; to absolve or acquit from guilt and merited punishment, and to accept as righteous on account of the merits of the Saviour by the application of Christ's atonement to the offender. When we believe in the finished work of Christ, admit we are a sinner, confess that we need Jesus to save us, and accept Him as our Saviour we are justified, acquitted of the punishment placed upon us for sin. Paul reminds the Jews that if they who knew the law didn't follow the law themselves how do they expect the Gentiles to follow it. It's not the law that justifies, it's knowing Christ.
“And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” - Galatians 2:13-17,21.
“then Christ is dead in vain.” If we are still under the law than Christ died in vain, His beatings, harsh punishment, hanging on the cross, thorns in His flesh were worthless. To the Christ dying on the cross was worthless, but He is not to those who believe, it is life and liberty from the guilt and shame of sin. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” - Romans 5:8,9.
In this world of disbelief in a God they can't see, how can they believe in a man who gave His life to redeem them bound for hell? Nevertheless, Jesus died for every soul. Therefore, if a person somehow escapes the pull of this world, and believes in Christ, then why would they trust anyone telling them they need to follow a bunch of rules to keep their salvation? Paul fusses at the Galatians for bringing this in the church and reminds them of the promise that God gave Abraham.
“This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” - Galatians 3:2-7,27-29.
“And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed,” Father Abraham had many sons, many sons had father Abraham, I am one of them and do are you, so, let's just praise the Lord! We who believe in Christ are one of those specs of sand that were promised to Abraham, but he had faith that He would be a father of many nations. The only children Abraham ever saw on earth was Issac, Jacob, and Esau, but every day he meets more of his children in heaven. You see, we all have to believe in Christ, not just us born under the New Testament, but all who found favor in God. If a person truly wanted God in their life, they would believe in Christ, even if they were following the law. Those who love God go where He goes and do what He tells them to do, if He says that our salvation was paid for by His Son, and He alone is all that is needed for our redemption than we do it. “And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” - James 2:23,24.
Today's Prayer: God, It's unbelievable to think that we don't have to do anything to be saved except believe in Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You, Jesus for making such a great sacrifice for us, we are not worthy to receive such a gift, but You offer it freely to anyone who comes to You by faith. Lord, as I live my life for You, keep me grounded in this truth, never let me fall into a false gospel, and never let me turn anyone down from knowing the truth. Let me be a witness and testimony of Your wonderful love and grace. I love You, Lord and pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

Finding Grace Through Our Infirmities
King James Bible Daily Devotion – Learning
Scripture One Day At A Time
Date: Tuesday, December 01, 2015
Chapters: 2 Corinthians 9-13
Message Title: Finding Grace Through Our Infirmities
Hello My Friend,
Infirmity, physical weakness, failing at something. We all have infirmities of some sort and while they make us feel as though we are failures, God sees them as opportunities. Infirmities bring us closer to God, they not only give us His power to overcome them, they give us the strength to endure the ones God sees fit are to remain. So, how do we get strength to handle our infirmities? First, we need to give ourselves over to God, the more we give over to Him the more power we have. Second, we need God's grace, it's more than God giving something we don't deserve, it's giving us the strength to go on when we have no strength in us at all. “For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” - 2 Corinthians 12:8-10.
Perhaps the best way to get closer to God and in His grace is by serving Him. In Paul's letter to the Corinthians he reminds them that their blessings from God comes from the amount of time they give Him, he cautions them on giving very little of their time to Him. “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.” - 2 Corinthians 9:6-11.
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart,” Many will make this as a reference about giving money, although tithing is important, it's not what Paul is referring to here, it's the amount of time we spend with God. Everything we do for God needs to come from the heart, some days we can't spend the entire day focused on Him, and He knows this, but the time we do spend with Him needs to be of quality. Our infirmities harden our heart toward Him, the more time we can give Him through the stronger we will be able to handle them. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.” - 2 Corinthians 10:3-7.
“Do ye look on things after the outward appearance?” We should all know by now that appearances mean absolutely nothing. If something seems too easy to help us through our infirmities it will probably cause more damage than relief. You see, the culprit behind all of our infirmities is the devil, he will do anything to weaken the faith of a Christian, and that includes bringing people into our lives who appear to be one of Christ's, but are actually of the devil. “But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not? If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.” - 2 Corinthians 11:12-15,29,30.
“I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.” Think about the things you went through and what God has gotten you through. When I first got saved, I didn't know what that meant, I thought I still had to do good and keep earning my way to heaven. I messed up big time, and got so far away from God that I didn't even speak to Him for several years. As I look back at how God protected me even in my biggest mess I can't help, but be encouraged that He will help me through what I am going through now. The more we look to God through our infirmities the harder it is for the devil to corrupt us, and if we are not careful, that's exactly what he will do. Ever wonder how a person who had such great passion for Christ can turn completely against Him? They allow the devil to take hold of them and corrupt their faith in Him. Paul tells all who are doubting Christ to stop and think about what they were putting their faith in.
“Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates. Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.” - 2 Corinthians 13:3-7.
“except ye be reprobates?” Reprobate, to be rejected by God and beyond any hope of salvation. While God wants to see everyone in heaven with Him, He knows that there are some that will never see salvation. He also knows who are His and the amazing thing is that our greatest victory over anything the devil will corrupt us with is being one of God's people. We can find the strength to our infirmities, but we must look to Jesus, He is the armor we need to strengthen us and help us endure. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” - Ephesians 6:10-13.
Today's Prayer: God, No matter how many times I get it in my head that You want me to handle my problems by myself You remind me that I need to depend on You if I want to endure them. You want me to seek You more in my weakness, which is the only way I truly depend on You, but I don't want my weakness to be the only reason to depend on You, I want to be totally dependent upon You in everything I do. Lord, search my heart, know my thoughts, if there be any wicked way in me lead me in the way everlasting, help me to stay in Your Word, learn it, follow it, and never cease from praying, it's my only victory over my infirmities. Fill me with Your grace and give me the strength I need to get through the things You see fit I must go through. I love You Lord and ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

Seeking Treasures In Heaven
King
James Bible Daily Devotion – Learning
Scripture One Day At A Time
Date: Monday, November 30, 2015
Chapters: 2 Corinthians 5-8
Message Title: Seeking Treasures In Heaven
Hello My Friend,
An amazing thing happens the instant a person receives Christ as their Saviour, they not only escape the punishment of death and hell, they also receive God. He indwells in every person who accepts and receives His Son. Praise God! We can life the best life ever here on earth, but if we want the best life we can have in heaven and in Christ's Kingdom on earth we need to make sure we are seeking the treasures of heaven. “And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” - Luke 12:29-31,34.
While we are not saved by anything we do ourselves, the success we have as a Christian here and what we receive in heaven is determined by what we do after we are saved. Of course, we are going to get tried, we are going to sin, we are going to see some suffering, and we are going to lose some things, but imagine how much we gain each time we endure those struggles with Christ. Paul reminds the Corinthians that while they were not saved by their own righteousness it's important to continue walking in the righteousness of Christ.
“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” - 2 Corinthians 5:1-8.
“If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.” It's important that we walk in the Spirit of God, not our flesh. We might have churches or buildings we gather in to worship the Lord, but God is not within those walls, He is within every saved person that brings Him through those walls. Imagine the power of God if every saved person joined together? That is one great power. We are all going to have to face Christ one day, wouldn't it be better having at least tried to live a decent life rather than never doing one thing to thank Him for saving your life? Paul explains that we need to be careful not to take God's grace in vain.
“We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” - 2 Corinthians 6:1-3,14-16.
“for ye are the temple of the living God;” Some people go overboard in this, but the truth is we are the temple of God, He indwells in us through the Holy Spirit, that means we ought to have respect for our bodies. Those receiving the grace of God in vain are those who have gotten saved, but chose to use it to satisfy the lusts of their flesh. They abuse the gift of their salvation as a way to do whatever they please knowing that they can still go to heaven. This will all backfire on them eventually, but those who turn their lives around while enduring trials are the ones who will truly prosper not only here, but in heaven as well. Paul recalls his first letter to the Corinthians and how much they have turned things around in a year, but warns them to not allow their affliction to take them back to where they were.
“Having therefore these promises, dearly
beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh
and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Now I rejoice,
not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for
ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage
by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation
not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For
behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what
carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea,
what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea,
what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved
yourselves to be clear in this matter.” - 2 Corinthians

Did you ever wonder why a person living a wickedly seems to prosper and get away with what they are doing, while you struggle? God knows your faithfulness, He knows that you are capable of doing what He asks you to do, therefore, He is going to keep you faithful by placing some struggles before you. Come judgment day your faithfulness is going to pay off, Jesus is going to show you how much He appreciates you for all the hard work and suffering that you endured for His sake. Paul explains this further as he continues to commend them on their faithfulness.
“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.” - 2 Corinthians 8:9-15.
“For if there be first a willing mind,” We can't live a life with Christ out of obligation or force, remember, God knows the heart, we must do it willingly if we want to see the blessings of God from it. What salvation really means is that every ridiculous or stupid thing you ever did before you knew Christ has been wiped clean from your slate. You now have a second chance to do something amazing with your life while you are still here on earth, and it can only be truly effective when you live your life with Christ in it. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” - Ephesians 2:10.
Today's Prayer: God, In my attempt to live the best life I can live with You in it I am constantly being tested in my faithfulness to You. While I cannot escape being tempted, I can escape the temptation as You always give us a way out of any temptation. Lord, give me Your power, only You can help me overcome the weakness of my flesh to succumb to those who want to see me fall. As I patiently wait for You, let me be the example You want me to be. I ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

Being A Comfort Through Affliction
King
James Bible Daily Devotion – Learning
Scripture One Day At A Time
Date: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Chapters: 2 Corinthians 1-4
Message Title: Being A Comfort Through Affliction
Hello My Friend,
The Book of 2 Corinthians is the forty-seventh book of the Bible, eighth book of the New Testament, and contains thirteen chapters. The author of this epistle is Paul and it was written to the believers at Corinth. The timeline for this is approximately 60AD. The purpose of the book was to reestablish his authority as an apostle, also to show his gratitude for their faithfulness in Christ and encourage them to keep the faith. What we are to learn from the book is that human weakness provides an opportunity for the power of God to be revealed through us. “For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.” - 2 Corinthians 13:4.
I have to admit that no matter how much I try to keep my head up and believe that good things are coming out of this trial I am going through, I am a little more discouraged than encouraged. On top of my trial as I work hard day by day to get my daily bread I see things being handed to others and wonder what could I possibly be doing wrong that they are getting blessed and I am hanging on by a thread. Can I tell you that there are blessings while we are hanging by a thread, we just have to hold on to Jesus while we do. Paul's first letter to the Corinthians was one of discipline, this one, written about a year later, is one of encouragement. He had it written when he himself was discouraged and heard how they had turned things around. He wanted to show them how pleased he was that they were living by the true Gospel, and how much of an encouragement they were to him.
“And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;” - 2 Corinthians 1:6-10.
“it is for your consolation and salvation,” The word consolation means comfort from distress, we really have no idea the impact we have on others who are depressed and discouraged. To live a life with Christ, to endure our afflictions with Him, when we are being afflicted really gives consolation and salvation to others. It is actually during affliction that we can find comfort in God and learn that Christ is right there with us. We can't grow in Christ without affliction, He suffered more than we ever will and survived, we too can survive. We can't expect all our sufferings to go away overnight, but we can trust God and let Him handle the matter in the manner that He knows best for us. “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.” - 1 Timothy 4:10.
I understand how affliction can cause depression and discouragement, it happens to the best if us, but we can get through it with God's help. We must be careful when we are being afflicted that we with heavy hearts become a person that will drag someone down rather than life them up. Paul explains this further.
“But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness. For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me? And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all. For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you. But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” - 2 Corinthians 2:1-5,15-17.
“that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.” I don't know how many times I write in my devotions or say something to someone that it brings tears to my eyes because it came directly from my heart and was something I needed to hear myself. Everything that we go through in life is placed before us, not only to get us to be dependent on God, but to get us to realize that it all comes from Him. We are going to face affliction whether we choose Christ or not, at least by following Him we have the assurance that someone is on our side, even if it is something we caused, and greater blessings will come as we learn from our mistakes.
“Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” - 2 Corinthians 3:1-6.
“for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” We can give consolation all we want, but it will do no good if they don't know Christ. Okay, some people will reject Christ as we minister the Gospel to them, but there are some who will accept Him. Believe it or not, the affliction we face and how we handle it with Christ has a bigger impact on others than us. The lost want to see hope in their afflictions and if they see that hope through Christ as He shines through us during our afflictions than we can see souls saved through ours.
“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.” - 2 Corinthians 4:6-11. Praise God!
Today's Prayer: God, When affliction comes my way, I admit I can lose sight of You, all I want to do is hide in a corner somewhere and not talk to anyone, but when I come to my senses You are always there, ready to pick me up and show me how to handle things. You are so merciful to me that it tears me up to think that I suffered when all I had to do was come to You. Lord, there is no one like You, so loving, so trusting, so fearing, just as a Father should be, You may not remove the thorn from my side, but Your grace is sufficient enough to help me through it and I thank You for that. Walk with me, guide me, and abide in me, give me that consolation that I know only comes as I remain in Your presence, and let me be a consolation to others who need You. I love You Lord and ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
