Message: That Is What Jesus Is For

Hello My Friend,

As I was reading the chapters this morning tear
s formed in my eyes, I was thinking of how merciful God is as I was trying to read His Word in a rush, and how much He really loves and takes care of us, even when we are distracted by life. You know, life can take such a toll on us that we can lose sight of God, even when He is prominent in our lives. It is the times that we cannot see Him that we bad decisions, lat lead to sinful behavior. That is what Jesus is for, we do not have to worry about messing up when we cannot see Him because He will carry us through. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” - Psalm 28:7.

If you ever watched a TV drama you will often see people trying to come to grips with tragedies, especially when a person is dying, sometimes they will even go as far as
creating an out of body experience with people to see what they would be missing if they died. I bring this up because the question always comes up about life after death, this means that the majority of people in the world are not sold on this whole, you live and die garbage, and have no idea what will happen to them when they die. Of course, the truth is, there is only one way to heaven, and that is Jesus Christ, and only God holds the throne. Believe it or not, that is your choice, but all who find Christ will find life after death. Even the Psalmist knew that before Jesus even came to earth. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” - Psalms 23:4-6.

and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” Do you know how amazing that is? When we receive Christ, we dwell in the House of God forever. Right now, He dwells in us through the Holy Spirit, but when our time here is done and we see Jesus face to face, we will be in His own house forever. And that is what Jesus is for. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” - II Corinthians 5:8.

and to be present with the Lord.” The world likes to deceive people into believing that they believe in God, that as ling as they are good they get to see heaven. The truth is, I do not know what god they believe in, but it is not God Almighty. To know the one and only true God they must admit they are sinners and only Christ, who died in there place, can save them. We must understand that while our works have nothing to do with our salvation, they do teach us to fear God and be a testimony for Him. Of course, the saved are going to mess up many times before they get to heaven, but that is what Jesus is for. We do not have to be perfect because He is perfect in us, we do have to confess our sins if we want Him to hear us. “All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” - Psalms 25:10-14.

and he will shew them his covenant.” What is His covenant? He promises everlasting life to all who believe in His Son, regardless of whether or not they do good. You know, I always say that fearing God means to honor and respect Him, but it also means to be afraid, not of losing your salvation, but of losing that close connection with God. Some people believe that if they are saved they can live anyway they want, that since they are not under the law they do not have to follow any of God’s commands. Let me tell you, that is not how God works, we will suffer if we live in sin. Just because we are now under the law of grace that does not mean there are no consequences for living in sin, those come before we get to heaven. We are walking, talking testimonies of Jesus Christ, what we do, say, believe, these all matter to God. “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” - Romans 6:15-18.

ye became the servants of righteousness.” How awesome is that! Righteousness, justification. We are justified, pardoned of all our sins when we believe in and follow Christ. Receiving Christ is not a one time deal, it is a lifetime commitment, meaning we do not just live and die, we live through Christ always and forever. What we do with our lives as born again believers makes an impact on what we will receive not only in this lifetime, but in His Kingdom. God blesses us greatly for following His commands, especially when we are not required to do anything, but believe. Therefore, it would be wise to learn of God’s ways and live by them, and that is what Jesus is for. Jesus teaches us the ways of God, our biggest defense that keeps us faithful, prayer. Pray often, when we are strong or weak, happy or sad, rejoicing or grieving, influenced or tempted, pray to God and He will lead us. “I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD: That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.” - Psalms 26:6-11.

I will walk in mine integrity:” I use to like to say, we are a work in progress, in fact, so many encourage us not to give up because we are a work in progress. The truth is, we are not a work, we are not laboring for anything, we are a child of God through Christ. Stop letting sinful habits control you, and start letting God do His work in you. We will never be sin free until we see Jesus, of course, we grow in Christ as we learn and live our lives through Him, but salvation is not a free ticket to say, it is okay to do something because I know God will forgive me. Of course, God forgives and forgets all our sins when we confess them, and yes, we do improve as we walk with Him, but it is time to take responsibility for our actions, and that is what Jesus us for, to keep us walking in our integrity. Cry out to Him and He will free us from anything. “Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” - Psalms 27:7-14.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today, Jesus is revealed as the King of glory (24:6-10). Jesus is King of kings and LORD of Lords, and every knee will bow to Him. “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” - Philippians 2:10,11.

Today's Prayer: (Psalms 25:4-8) Jesus, Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD. Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.Lord, give me Your power, strength, wisdom, love, mercy, and grace, wrap me up in Your arms and keep me protected as I await Your return or You come to get me. In Your name, Jesus, I pray, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

Oppressed But Not Forgotten

KJB Daily DevotionFollowing Jesus Through Every Chapter
Date: Thursday, June 09, 2016
Chapters: Psalms 10-17
Message: Oppressed But Not Forgotten

Hello My Friend,

Reading the Psalms is kind of like when you read the Book of Acts, you forget that there are some good verses in there to help you no matter what you are dealing with. I admit that, like everyone else, some days I soak in every word I read, others, I cannot remember how I got to the end of the chapters. There truly is something to be said about comforting words from the Word of God when life seems to be falling apart. “LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.” - Psalms 10:17,18.

Oppress, To overload or overburden. No matter what you do in life, we all get overloaded and burdened with our duties. Life is the same way, we all have had times when our load is heavy, maybe even now, and it seems like there is no relief. We read the Scriptures, no relief, we pray, no relief, we talk to people, no relief. What do we do? We keep going to God until He answers us. We somehow get it in our heads that we are never to ask God questions, He wants us to ask questions. When He seems to be no where around ask Him where He is. “Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth. The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.” - Psalms 10:1-3,16-18.

the heathen are perished out of his land.” Heathen, a pagan, one who worships idols, or is unacquainted with the true God. You know, when you look up the definition of a heathen it also says, a Gentile, all nations except the Jews or Israelites, as they were all strangers to the true religion, and all addicted to idolatry. Let me tell you, just because they are Jews that does not mean they are not strangers of the true God. We were all heathens at one time, none of us were acquainted with the true God until we came to know Christ. And even then that did not qualify you as being a true worshiper of God unless you accepted Him as your Saviour. Many saved “Christians” might as well be called heathens because they too are strangers to the true God. There is not much hope for the heathen, they will die in their sin, but all who humble themselves to the King and worship only Him will be oppressed no more. “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” - Matthew 25:34.

Yes, when we are oppressed it can feel like God has forgotten all about us. The Psalms are a great way to cry out to God when we are lost for words. David wrote this Psalm when he was being chased by Saul. “To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.” - Psalms 13:1-4.

O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes,” I am making a point to show who wrote the Psalm, God thought is so important that He even made the font bold for us to notice. No matter how strong our faith in God, we all get weary, we all feel the effects of oppression. David was so discouraged that he too felt God had forgotten him, but just like the rest of us who cry out to God and He answers them almost immediately, at least that He is still with us, David did too. He came to his senses, although this Psalm was written after he was king. “To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.” - Psalms 14:1-4.

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men,” Here is where a lot of people get confused, God looked down on the children of men. There are only two kinds of people in the world, the sons of God, those who believe and seek God, and the sons of man, those who reject and turn away from God. A great example of this is Cain and Able, Cain’s pride and joy was his crops, he did not care to give God his very best. Able love God and made sure he gave Him the best of his herd. God was not pleased with Cain, gave him a chance to reconcile, but he did not and killed his brother instead. Many Christians have died in the hands of those who reject God, there is hope for them, but not for those who do not call upon the LORD. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” - Romans 10:9-13.

When we calm down, stop and think about our situation and all that God had blessed us with prior to our problems we see that He has always been with us. One of my favorite poems is Footprints, when it seems as though God is no where to be found through our trials, that is when He is actually carrying us. Jesus is always with those who call upon Him, never to be moved from His care, He is our strength, our hope, our direction. “I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” - Psalms 16:7-11.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today, Jesus is revealed through the Holy One (16:10). This foretells the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:25-27; 13:35-39) who did not see corruption. When Jesus spoke His Revelation to John, He declared He has the keys to death and hell. “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” - Revelation 1:18.

Today's Prayer: (Psalms 17:6-9) God, I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

Kiss The Son

KJB Daily DevotionFollowing Jesus Through Every Chapter
Date: Wednesday, June 08, 2016
Chapters: Psalms 1-9
Message: Kiss The Son

Hello My Friend,

The Book of Psalms is the nineteenth book of the Old Testament/Bible and contains one hundred-fifty chapters. The author of the book is mostly David, a couple more would be Moses and Asaph. The book was first written to the Israelites and it's purpose was to show them that prayer, praise, confession, and intercession are an important part in worshiping God. It is the song, prayer and praise book of the Bible. What we are to learn from the book is that all who delight in God in their lives will prosper. “
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” - Psalms 1:3.

There are those who are so dead against God that they try to shut up everyone who believes in and follows Him. I want to know if they are so sure that God does not exist or that all the terrible things in the world make Him a mean and cruel God than why are they so passionate to stop us? I will tell you why. They are angry and hurt, instead of finding a way to overcome their pain they not only blame God, they hate Him for allowing the suffering. The Psalms are full of verses that remind us that God loves us and is there for us, but they also warn us what happens to those who reject Him.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” - Psalms 1:3-6.

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous:The righteous, who are the righteous? Those who are saved. The righteous are not perfect, some have been down right wicked, but they were brave enough to admit they are sinners. God knows every person who is against Him, He knows what they are going through, their anger, pain, suffering, but He cannot help them if they do not come to Him. Look, there is no way to explain why bad things happen for no reason, or why God allows His own to go through so much suffering, but there is always hope. That hope can only be in Jesus Christ, even the Psalmist knew that. “I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.” - Psalms 2:7-12.

Kiss the Son,You see “Son”, that means God is talking about His Son, God sent His Son to the heathens for His inheritance. God sent His Son, His only begotten Son, to be a light, to show His love, direction, and discipline to the angry, oppressed, lonely, brokenhearted, and everyone in and out of the world. To those who deny Him, hate Him, rebel against Him, He will deny them, He cannot and will not deny himself. Many will reject God because that say He threatens them with hell unless they follow His orders. If they would open their eyes they would see what God is all about. When God created everything good it was sin that destroyed it, Yes, God did created hell for those who are wicked, and that includes those who do not believe. It does not matter how good we are, how much we try to help the less fortunate, sin brings death and hell if we do not Kiss the Son. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” - Revelation 21:7,8.

I understand that life is not fair sometimes, we suffer with illnesses, diseases, death, poverty, body defects, constant disappointments, and people who are down right awful. We have been lied to, cheated on, abused, hated, and watched people die. We cannot humanly comprehend why God would allow it at all, especially when we are His. The truth is, we are not supposed to try and figure it out. Suffering removes pride, it makes us humble, and it teaches us that there are no guarantees in this world. What we are to do is seek and trust God, let Him comfort us and give us the answers to our problems, and show us how to handle the situation. David wrote this Psalm when he was king and his own son tried to kill him and claim the throne for himself. “
A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.” - Psalms 3:1-4

There is no help for him in God.” That is what the world likes us to believe, that we can never get help from God. Let me tell you, after my fiasco with the cake on Sunday I lost money that was lent to me to buy the supplies, I was discouraged, felt humiliated, and that God was against everything I was trying to do. Then today, shortly after I prayed, I got a message today for a big order and someone wanting a website. You see, when I took the time to talk to God and not scream at Him, that was when I got my answer. When everyone thinks you are a fool for trusting God, let your testimonies tell them otherwise. “There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” - Psalms 4:6-8.

only makest me dwell in safety.” In the midst of our problems there is safety, and that safety is in the arms of Jesus Christ. Just wrap your arms around Jesus, pray, and let Him take the lead. “Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.” - Psalms 5:2-7.

and will look up.” I will admit that I have been having a hard time looking up to God. I use to recite part of this Psalm ever morning so when I read it today I felt ashamed because I have not been trusting God very much the past couple of months. It was only when I cried out to Him with all my heart that He spoke, He truly is a refuge to those who humble themselves before Him. “But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment. And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” - Psalms 9:7-10.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Jesus is revealed through the one God made lower than the angels (8:5). Jesus, in all His power as God, lowered Himself to take on a flesh body to be redemption for us. “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” - Hebrews 2:9.

Today's Prayer: God, I will not even begin to understand Your reasoning, it is much to complex for my mind, I do understand that You love me, want the best for me, and use my suffering to make me more like Your Son. I have kissed Your Son, I remember the day I truly knew I was saved, and I thank You for helping me through every bit of suffering. Lord, Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Thank You for being my safety, refuge, comfort, and bringing me peace, I know that You will never leave or forsake me, thank You for Your mercy and grace, and that it is endless. Lord, be those who are hurting, oppressed, angry, soften some hearts, show them Your love, and let them see that there is hope, and life after this one. I love You, and pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina

Be Not Weary In Waiting

KJB Daily DevotionFollowing Jesus Through Every Chapter
Date: Tuesday, June 08, 2016
Chapters: Job 40-42
Message: Be Not Weary In Waiting

Hello My Friend,

Weary, Having the patience exhausted, or the mind yielding to discouragement. I always considered myself to be a patient person, but the last couple of years I have come to realize I am not very patient at all. I can get so frustrated with what seems like constant work with no results that I do get weary. I am not alone, we all get weary, especially of the mind when trying to live the life we are given and have obstacles along the way. While waiting is not something we like doing, it is something we have to do if we want God’s besides, waiting actually gives us things quicker than if we go ahead of God. “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” - Isaiah 40:28,31.

While most days reading God’s Word teaches me or reminds me of something I need to know, some days God screams things at me, things that I truly needed to be reminded of. Today is one of those screaming days. You see, I spent half the day on Saturday buying supplies for a cake that someone special ordered. She wanted to pick it up Sunday afternoon around the time I would be at choir practice at church, I prayed for an early pick up. She called early and I thought my prayers were answered. Well, Not only did she send me a text that she had to turn back on her way to pick it up, I no longer had a way to get to church. So, here I am on a Sunday afternoon, no choir practice, no church, and a cake that is just sitting on the table. I did not praise God or thank Him, I began crying, asking God what I had to do for Him to stop giving me all this hope and it was gone.

Why am I telling you this story? I got weary. I have been fighting with this issue for some time now, I am convinced that God is mad at me and everyone around me is suffering because of it. Now, what is the truth? God is not mad at me, perhaps the only issue He has is that I have been doing what Job had been doing, trying to justify myself. I imagine Job felt weary also, and now God Himself appeared and was asking him impossible questions. Then Job answered the LORD, and said, Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further. Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty. Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.” - Job 40:3-12.

and tread down the wicked in their place.” When you stop to think about all that God has to deal with from man you can understand what He has to deal with. It is not like He pulls our names out of a hat and says I will grant this one this, He puts a great deal of consideration into what He does with each one of us. Things we think are flaws, birth defects, rare disorders, distorted body images, God had a reason for making us the way He did, He is not condemning, punishing, or making us suffer, He is making us stronger, hopeful, and faithful. As for the proud and wicked, God deals with them too, we may not see the judgment, but God is very patient, they will have their reward for their deeds. “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.” - 1 Peter 4:16-19.

God continues, He describes one of the most powerful beasts He created, the leviathan, a very large, strong, fish-like, serpent, water-animal, many claim it to be a crocodile or whale, but neither of these are correct, and the entire description proves it is something of much greater strength and size. Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.” - Job 41:1,9-14.

who then is able to stand before me?” The most powerful beast on earth cannot compare to the power of God. He is God, He does not have to explain Himself. Science has the idea that it can prove how everything was made, especially life itself. It is natural to want to know how things are made and function, but it is unnatural to question the Maker. There are some things that we are not meant to know for instance, a life forming in the womb, we can see images of the stages in which God creates life, but there is no possible way to know how organs and bones formed in the womb. Science is good at recreating some amazing things to sustain life, but it will never compare to the power of God. “For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” - I Corinthians 1:19-21.

Job could not say anything, but acknowledge that there are many things in this world that cannot be explained. “I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee. Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.” - Job 42:2-8.

and my servant Job shall pray for you:” One of the most powerful things we can do is pray for others. Pray for our friends, even our enemies, pray for people we never even met. When we pray for others, especially those who are misinformed, God blesses us. God brought Job to the realization that he was not meant to know all the answers to life's problems, he just had to trust Him and keep living the life he had been living. After Job was put to the test and passed, his friends did not, God confronted them on the way they treated him. Job was blessed with double of what he lost after he prayed for his friends. We too must come to the place where we realize we do not know all the answers. God knows what He is doing, every trial, every circumstance, every situation we get into, is not by chance, it is all to get us to realize that we have a bigger God than our situation. “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” - II Corinthians 4:16-18.

Today's Prayer: God, I know that your hand is in everything and I am trusting You to get me through every trial I face. I admit sometimes instead of handing things over to You I get impatient and prolong things more. Lord, give me Your power to let go of the fight to try to handle it all on my own and just hand it all over to You. Give me patience to wait for You and let me not get weary in serving You. Let me find comfort through the unpleasant experiences I am facing and remind me to pray for everyone You put on my mind. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
