Hello My Friend,

Wonder, That emotion which is excited by the presentation of sight or mind, of something new, unusual, strange, great, extraordinary, or not well understood. The greatest wonder we will ever know is Jesus Christ, how He gave His life so that we might live, not only in this lifetime, but for eternity in His Kingdom. Once we believe and receive Christ, that alone is enough to know how great God is, but He does not stop there, if we are faithful to Him, He gives us much more than that. “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” - 1 Peter 1:7-9.

That the trial of your faith,” Ninety percent of our walk with Christ is a trial of our faith, it is not to question our salvation, but whether or not we are willing to put our faith and trust in Him beyond our salvation. Now, Joshua gathered all the congregation together to make the trip over the Jordan, the interesting thing was, no boats. How was the entire congregation going to get there on foot? First he instructed the Levites, those who carried the ark, to go ahead of everyone else, to start walking and stop when they get to the water.

And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people. And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee. And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan. And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,) That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.” - Joshua 3:6-8,15,16.

ye shall stand still in Jordan.” Sometimes we have to stand still in order to see the wonders of God. He is always before us, preparing our path, and if we walk ahead of Him we cannot see Him, likewise, if we lag too far behind. By standing still we not only see which way we are to go, we see God, who is always doing something mighty. “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” - 1 Corinthians 2:9,10.

Just as Moses was able to lead the Israelites across the Red Sea on dry land with God's mighty hand, Joshua led the new generation across the Jordan River the same way. When they got there, the very first thing God commanded them to do was gather twelve stones out of the Jordan, one man from each tribe was to gather a stone to represent each of the children of Israel.

And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho. And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal. And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones? Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land. For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over: That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.” - Joshua 4:19-24.

that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.” You know, the greatest way to see the wonders of God before our eyes is to fear God, to love Him and remain faithful to Him no matter what we are going through. Is it always going to be easy to fear God? No. Temptations, emotions, circumstances, our own lack of faith, they all cause us to do some things we are not proud of sometimes, even being faithful to Him. That is why we are a work in progress, we will never be sin free or problem free until we see Christ, but we can endure all things by remaining faithful to God at all times. “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” - Mark 12:30,31.

The majority of us when we first get saved have no idea what the Bible says, so a lot of what we know about God and Jesus came from what others told us. Once we get in the word of God we realize it is nothing like we were taught, then we learn, we observe, we do, and we grow as the Holy Spirit redirects our path. In the forty years that the new generation had been the wilderness none of the statutes and observances had been carried out, first, God commanded Joshua to circumcise all the males, and then they observed the first passover.

And Joshua made him sharp knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of the foreskins. Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not circumcised. And their children, whom he raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised: for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them by the way. And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho. And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.” - Joshua 5:3,5,7,10-15.

for they were uncircumcised,” Being uncircumcised was a matter of uncleanness, any male not circumcised was considered dirty and not of God. We must be clean, sin free, to be able to enjoy fellowship with God and see Him do wonders in our lives. Jesus cleans us the second we receive Him as our Saviour, coming to Him is the only way anything we do for God counts. We can follow all kinds of rules, praise and worship God all day long, but unless we are saved, unless we have circumcised the foreskin our heart, God will not acknowledge us. “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:” - Colossians 2:8-11.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today, Jesus is revealed through the Ark that goes before us and guides us, and as the Captain of the LORD'S host.

Today's Prayer: God, Thank You for accepting me and making me one of Your children when I choose Your Son as my Saviour. Today, I am a sinner saved by Your grace, and while I know there is nothing that I need to do to keep my salvation, I still want to live my life as the godly example You would like for me to be so that I can see You doing more wonders in my life. Lord, lead me and guide me, give me Your power to stay faithful to You, give me the wisdom to understand Your word, and let me never forget all that You have done for me. Keep me looking forward to what You have waiting for me on the other side of this Jordan as I allow You to direct my path. Help me to be strong and of a good courage in all that You bring me to and through. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Joshua: Be Of Good Courage

Message: Joshua: Be Of Good Courage

Hello My Friend,

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book of the Old Testament/Bible and contains twenty-four chapters. The author of the book is Joshua and it was written to Israel, the timeline for these events is approximately 1451 BC to 1427 BC. The purpose of the book was to record the details on how the minister of Moses, Joshua, led the people of Israel into the promised land and explains the division of the land among the tribes. What we are to learn from the book is that no moral or spiritual battles are won without God, He gives victory to all who let Him lead them. “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” - Joshua 1:5.

You know, a walk with Christ brings so many blessings that we never can count them all, despite that we will still lose out on things due to disbelief or disobedience. One thing we will never lose, our salvation, if we are saved. Now, God called Moses up to the top of Mt. Pisgah, He gave him one last view of the promised land before he died. The beautiful land flowing with milk and honey could been seen, but because of his disobedience and disbelief he was not able to step foot on it. God never forgot what Moses had done for Him, and even after he was told he could not go into the promised land he remained faithful to Him. While we are going to lose out on many things, we must remain faithful to God because we have much better things waiting for us.

And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea, And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar. And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,” - Deuteronomy 34:1-6,10.

whom the LORD knew face to face,” Moses was the only man on earth to be able to stand face to face with God and talk to Him one on one. Mose was not perfect, but he still had God's favor because he remained faithful to Him. No one ever on earth was perfect, except Jesus, sometimes we are going to do things that keep us from receiving certain blessings from God, but when we make things right with Him He will honor us and bless us accordingly. Losing out on things is never a reason to walk away from God, He has much more to give us than what we expect of ourselves, if we have trusted Christ as our Saviour we not only have His favor, we have eternal life with Him, something no earthly possession can replace. “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” - 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

Courage, that quality of mind which enables one to encounter danger and difficulties without fear or depression of the spirit. Did you ever see a little baby? My nephew has no fear, when he is determined to get something or go somewhere, nothing stops him, and if he gets hurt, he cries a little, gets back up, and tries again. Courage is not something that comes easy for us, but it is something that God expects of us. Now, after they mourned the death of Moses, the time had come for the Israelites to cross over the Jordan and go into the promised land, God spoke to Joshua.
Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” - Joshua 1:2,3,6-8.

that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law,” Joshua is to make the word of God his ruler, he is commanded to meditate upon it day and night, that he might understand it and follow it in order for him to succeed. Whatever challenges we face, we must not forget the one thing needed to give us the strength and courage to face them, God. While we are in this flesh we get tired, we get weary, we get scared, and we get weak as we try to walk this life, and there is only so much we can physically do on our own. Christ is our strength and courage to go beyond what our human capabilities allow us to go. When we get in His word and study it daily we are given strength and courage through Him as we observe and follow it. “Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” - Philippians 4:5-7,13.

Joshua sent two men over into Jericho to search it out, just to see what they were up against. Word had already gotten out that the people of Israel, and their God, were about to come in and siege the land so when people found out that some Israelites were there they searched all over to capture and kill them. They ran into a woman, a prostitute named Rahab, she hid them and asked them of one thing in return for her kindness.

And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token: And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death. And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.” - Joshua 2:9-14.

neither did there remain any more courage in any man,” The number one reason that God puts us in a land full of corruption is so others can hear of Him and get saved. Life is hard, people of the world are just as tired and weary as we are, they are looking for hope, they have lost their courage because they know Christ is coming. While many will scatter and try everything possible to rebel and even stop this from happening, some will heed the warnings and receive Him as their Saviour. Christ gave His life so that we have something much better in store for us when we leave this earth, he never refuses the gift of salvation to anyone who comes to Him, no matter where they came from or what their past was like. Let me tell you, when we are trying to do things in our own strength we are going to mess up because we do lose the courage to stand, but Christ is always there to pick us up when we fall. “Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.” - Romans 14:4,8,9.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Christ is revealed through Joshua as he was called to lead the people into the promised land. Jesus is our leader into the Kingdom of God.

Today's Prayer: God, You have called us for a purpose, and commanded us to be strong and have courage to do what You called us to do. Lord, We can do all things through Your Son in us, You are our strength, as we study Your word and talk to You daily we can do all things. Give us Your power, Your strength, and Your guidance, help us to fulfill the task You called us to do. Let us not look to the right or left, just straight ahead, trusting You to help us succeed. And when You are done with us we have the promise of life in Your Kingdom waiting for us. Hallelujah! In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Deuteronomy: Keep God With You

Hello My Friend,

The Christian walk is not promised to be a smooth path, but it is promised to be one in which God walks with us along every path we take the second we receive His Son as our Saviour. Now, what happens if we ever turned down a wrong path and lost our way with God? He is right there, just turn around, He will wrap His arms around you and love you just like He always does. “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” - 1 Peter 5:6,7.

When we first choose Christ we get this strength that we never had before, it is as if every weight that held us down comes off and we can move again. Then something happens, trials come, if we are dealing with something already they seemed to escalate, or new ones showed up. These trials can either increase or decrease our faith according to how we handle them and whether or not we hold on to Christ while we are going through them. The Israelites were about to take that step over into the promised land, and it was not going to be easy, they would have to take the land for their possession. Moses encourages them to keep God and His word with them always.

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles, When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.” - Deuteronomy 31:5,6,10-13.

he it is that doth go with thee;” When we are faithful to God, He is faithful to us, He goes wherever we go. He is always faithful to us, but He blesses us more for our faithfulness. It is the few and faithful that God uses to keep His Word going strong, He appoints people of all walks of life to preach and teach His word so that all have the opportunity to know it. Let me tell you, this world is falling apart because they have forgotten to preach the word of God and many who know it are not telling it. It is time to dust off the Bibles, get those eyes in there, and listen to what God is saying. “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” - Ephesians 4:29,30.

Sometimes God's people do get caught up in a mess and can get so far away from Him that He is no where to be found, but God knows who His people are, He never forgets them, and He knows where they can be found. Moses finished his speech to the Israelites with a song that God wanted them to remember and sing often. It was not a typical uplifting song, it was a solemn song, one that foretold their turning their back o Him. The objective of this song was to remind them of God's judgment and salvation to all who come to the Rock.

Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation. Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee? They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger. They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.” - Deuteronomy 32:3-6,16-18.

is not he thy father that hath bought thee?” Jesus is the Rock, which means safety, refuge, and the Almighty God Himself, when people reject Jesus they reject God. Those who reject Jesus corrupt themselves and are usually the most rebellious, foolish, and unwise people about God, they literally make up their own god and religions. Jesus bought the soul of every person who believes in Him with His own life. Those who believe in Him and receive Him belong to Him, and only they have the power to overcome the trials in their lives. “For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant. Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” - 1 Corinthians 7:22,23.

If we are going to turn away from God we can expect chastening, after all He is our Father and is only trying to get us to come to Him. One of two things will happen, He will either get us to return to Him while we are yet alive or our sin will be the death of us and He will bring us home so we do not make an even more mess of our lives. Keep in mind that God will only let His children go so far before He pulls them back. Moses reminds Israel about the inheritance and blessings they were about to receive from God, it was not by their own righteousness, but by the promise He made.

And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky. The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.” - Deuteronomy 33:1,26-29.

The eternal God is thy refuge,” Christ is eternal salvation, therefore, those who receive Him have eternal salvation. That is not because of our righteousness, it is because of the promise God made to never leave nor forsake anyone who receives His Son. You know if we depended on our own righteousness to receive things we would get absolutely nothing. No one wants to give people things when they are arrogant and proud. That is why God does not give salvation or any part of His inheritance to us by our own righteousness, but by the grace of God.“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” - Ephesians 2:8-10.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed in several places, He is the one who goes before and walks with His believers. He is the Rock upon which we stand, and He is also our eternal refuge.

Today's Prayer: Jesus, Thank You for the safety You place on Your sheep, even if we wander away from You and get lost, You know where to find us. You only let us go through so much before you start calling for us to return to You. Thank You for Your love, patience, and never letting go of us, there really is nothing we can do to thank You, but let You live in and through us. Lord, give us Your power, strength, and wisdom to withstand the evils of the day and help us to live our lives by Your example. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.

Deuteronomy: Observe and Do

Hello My Friend,

I use to think that everything I did on this earth was on a scale, all the good on one, all the bad on the other. When the bad started to outweighed the good I thought there was no way God wanted any part of me, and forget about salvation I never even knew that existed. Then when I actually learned what Jesus and salvation was really about I truly understood the mercy and grace of God. False religion or mans ideas on how to worship God is not acceptable to God, in fact, it has nothing to do with worshiping the Almighty and only living God. Only when we observe His word and do what is in it can we be acceptable to God. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” - 2 Timothy 2:15.

Observe, To keep religiously; to celebrate; To keep into practice. Billions of people believe in God, but they all have their own ideas on how they communicate with Him, most of which do not. God gave us His word so we can know how to worship Him the way we are supposed to. I am sure when Moses was telling the Israelites all the things that God was expecting of them they were probably a little scared, I image even some were a bit apprehensive at the thought of having to obey so many rules. Moses encourages them to observe the law, telling them of the blessings they will receive by doing so, but he also gives them a stern warning should they rebel.

If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed. And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God. And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.” - Deuteronomy 28:58-63.

so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you,” Do you think that God wants to see anyone end up in hell? No, He does not. However, He is God, and that means He is a just God and He will not be mocked. He cannot stop anyone from doing what they want to do, that includes rebelling against Him, but if we are going to worship Him He expects us to do it His way. A relationship with God has never been about following a bunch of rules, God knows as long as we have this flesh we cannot possibly obey them all, it is about loving Him and making Him LORD of our lives. “Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.” - Ecclesiastes 8:12,13.

Many people question God or reject Him because of the judgments that came from ignoring His word. God did not want these things to happen, in fact, He did everything possible to keep them from happening, but it was out of His hands, once they choose the path they followed there was no turning back unless they repented. But God knew they were going to happen, which is why He reminds them that He made a promise and will keep it.

Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do. Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water: That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day: That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:” - Deuteronomy 29:9-15.

Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;” God makes the same promise to all who believe in and receive His Son, eternal life in His Kingdom. When we are living our lives with Christ in it, we are doing so of our own free will. While God can always intervene at any time, He will not mess with a persons free will, but that does not mean that judgment will not come. No one is exempt from judgment, but we can be exempt from eternal death. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” - John 5:24,28-30.

The problem is that we try to do good to get God's approval, but instead of seeking it the way He wants, we do what we think is right. As long as we get in His word and do what He wants us to do then we will not have to worry about the consequences that come from doing what is right in our own eyes. When I think of all the years I wasted trying to do good in hopes of getting to heaven and what could have happened if I died without receiving Christ as my Saviour I cringe. I have family that died and are in hell because they never knew the truth, it angers me to no end that they were lied to under false religion. God can always turn a curse into a blessing, He promises to never give up on the Israelites, and He promises the same to all who hear His voice.

And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee, And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee. If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee: And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers. And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.” - Deuteronomy 30:1-6.

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart,” Before we know Christ as our Saviour we are caught up in trying to do things we feel are right in hopes that it will please God and take us to heaven, this is false religion. Here is the key, our heart, when God nudges at our heart and we listen to Him, that is what pleases Him, and unless we receive His Son, there is no pleasing Him. He is the one who circumcises our heart to see the truth and obey it. “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:” - Colossians 2:8-11.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the one who turns curses into blessings when we listen to His voice.

Today's Prayer: God, You love us too much to see us suffering, especially for things unnecessary. You do not give us rules to stop us from living a great life, but so we can live the greatest life with You in it. We often forfeit blessings or even bring about curses because we are too proud to follow Your rules. Thank You for Your mercy and grace to never leave nor forsake us, and Your ability to change those curses into blessings when we turn to You. Lord, give us Your power to remove the things and people from our lives that bring curses upon us and help us know Your will and follow it so we can receive those blessings You have waiting for us. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Hello My Friend,

Believe, To be persuaded of the truth of something upon the declaration of another, or upon evidence furnished by reasons. The Bible, God's Holy Word, it was written under the inspiration of God through the Holy Spirit as He directed every person He chose to pen down His thoughts and the events He wanted to allow in His word. We do not need the Bible to be persuaded that God is real, we do not even need another person, but the Bible was given to us as a guide to know God and have a relationship with Him. Even though God chose the Jews to be the people the rest of the world would recognize as His people, He did not stop anyone from believing and choosing Him. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” - 1 John 5:13.

Abomination, Extreme hatred; detestation. While God hates all sin, some are an abomination to Him, most of them being something to do with the flesh, but every now and then we learn of something else that God has an extreme hatred over. Stones were used by the Jews to weigh things for buying and selling instead of brass or lead for their weights, as they were less liable to lose anything through rust or wear. Divers weights or measures, stones of unequal weights, the lighter to sell with, the heavier to buy with. Moses warns about divers weights.

Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small. But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God. Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God. Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.” - Deuteronomy 25:14-19.

thou shalt not forget it.” We are to never forget what Christ did for us, we inherit eternal life and the Kingdom of God the second we believe in Christ as receive Him as our Saviour. There is no other way to God, trying to get to Him any other way is like those divers weights, they are an abomination to Him. Life can drag us down and we can lose sight of Christ from time to time, but we must never forget that He died to save us from our sins, that He when He was buried He buried those sins, and He arose to He conquer death caused by those sins. We are saved by grace when we believe. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.” - Romans 10:9-12.

I catch myself, especially the past few months trying to mix law with grace. Now, I know I am saved by grace through my belief and acceptance of Christ as my Saviour, and nothing I do can change that. Every time I have an off day or my faith is being tried the first thing I do is think that I must be doing something wrong. You know, the Holy Spirit is our guide to what is right or wrong, but the devil is our guide to mixing law with grace, he will even try to convince us that we are not saved if we do something wrong. Can I tell you, once saved, always saved, nothing we do can change that. Of course, we can lose sight of God and get caught up in things and get caught up in sin, but He is always there to catch us. Moses reminds the Israelites that when they get into the promised land they are to never forget that they are there because God set them free from Egypt.

And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression: And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders: And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey. And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God, and worship before the LORD thy God: And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.” - Deuteronomy 26:7-11.

the LORD heard our voice,” We are not perfect, we mess up every day, some days more than others, some even fall away from God in the process. No matter what we have done, all we have to do is cry out to God and He will hear us. He is always faithful, He is always forgiving, and He is always there for us. Stop beating yourself up, God has already forgiven you, it is time for you to forgive you and move forward. If you believe that Christ has saved you from your sins, believe that He has forgiven you and has already forgotten what you did. God has never reminded anyone of their sins once they confessed them, and He never will because He forgot them. So, when you get those thoughts from the devil reminding you of your sin, remind him where he is going. “Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;” - Colossians 2:12-14.

God's choice in His people had nothing to do with them being better, more spiritual, or more righteous than any one else, it had to do with the promise that He made with Abraham, a man whom committed adultery with his own wife. He promised He would always bless them if they followed His commands. As Moses winds down his speech he encourages them to remain faithful to God, and gives them one last command.

And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day. And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister: And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee. Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister. And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.” - Deuteronomy 27:1-4,9,10.

this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God.” The second we believe in Christ and receive Him as our Saviour we become a person of the Lord, now and forever. Many people believe that just because they were Jews that meant they were automatically saved from hell. This is incorrect. Salvation has always been about believing and receiving, in fact, the word salvation is mentioned a hundred and fifteen times in the Old Testament to prove that all need to believe to be saved. “Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people? Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:” - Psalms 78:20-22.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through His stretched out hand that delivered the Israelites out of bondage to Egypt.

Today's Prayer: Jesus, It is truly amazing that no matter what I do You never leave nor forsake me. All I have to do to get You to hear me is come to You. I want Your favor upon my life and to be a witness and testimony of Your great love, even through my trials and tribulations. Lord, lead me and guide me, help me to live is a way that reflects You through me, let me not get caught up in unprofitable works, but never forget what You have done to get me where I am today. I am saved by grace through my belief in Your finished work and asking You to save me from my sins. The rest is up to You as I allow You to walk with me everywhere I go. In Your name Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Deuteronomy: Flee Fornication

Hello My Friend,

We who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour are truly blessed to know the mercies of God, He received us gladly, and promises to never leave nor forsake us, no matter how many stupid things we do after we are saved. Being saved does not mean we will not face any chastening for sin, but it does mean His mercy endures. “Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” - James 5:11.

Mercy, pardoned from the punishment deserved. Believe it or not, all sin has its form of punishment, little white lies come with consequences, drinking comes with consequences, cheating comes with consequences. When you think about the law of Moses, God was well aware that it was impossible for the Israelites to follow every command, yet He was very merciful to them. Yes, He did use some people as examples if they got caught in their sin, but the majority of the time, these people did whatever they wanted and did not get punished to the fullest extent of the law. The problem with sin is that it is dirty, it defiles us. As Moses continues speaking to Israel upon entering their promised land he, warns them to keep their camp clean, pure from immoral corruption.

If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp: But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again. Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad: And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee: For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.” - Deuteronomy 23:10-14.

For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp,” God is always with us, He dwells in every believer through the Holy Spirit. I use to think that if I am doing something immoral with my body so did God, that image kept me from doing a lot of things, I even stopped eating pork. As I grow closer to God I realize something, God loves us, and while we ought to be thinking twice about what we do with our bodies, we are not under the law anymore. While God is always with us, we have a choice in what we do, if we make bad choices, we will suffer, and that is what His mercy and grace are for. “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.” - 1 Corinthians 6:12,13.

Fornication, The lewdness of unmarried persons (premarital sex); Adultery, Incest, Idolatry; forsaking God, and worshiping of idols. Perhaps the thing that God finds abominable next to following other gods are unclean acts with our bodies. Through the law, Moses gives the bill of divorcement, the only cause for divorce. “When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife. And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.” - Deuteronomy 24:1-4.

and thou shalt not cause the land to sin,” God takes acts done with our bodies very seriously. Why? It is our body, we need to take care of it or bad things will happen to it. The world has made a mockery of the body, anything goes, and this is the reason there are so many diseases out there. While we are no longer under the law, we must keep our bodies clean from immoral acts, if only to honor God. “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” - 1 Corinthians 6:18-20.

When we accept Christ as our Saviour we enter a marriage with Him, we are joined as one with Him, and nothing can separate us from Him. The Christian life may not be as glamorous as a life in the world, but it is the only life with the Almighty God in it. And it is the only life that teaches us to have respect for our bodies and treat them in a godly way. “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” - Romans 6:1-4.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Jesus is revealed when through the curse God turned into a blessing because He loved them. God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son to remove the curse of death and hell for every believer.

Today's Prayer: God, As we walk daily with You, our presence will make a difference in a classroom, workplace, neighborhood, in a community, and most especially in our families lives. With Your sanctifying seal upon our lives we no longer live according to the lust of our flesh, but the life of Christ who resides in us. May we see our world turned upside down as people put away evil from among them while being transformed by Christ’s redemptive power. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Deuteronomy: Put Away The Evil

Evil, Having bad qualities of a moral kind; wicked; corrupt; perverse; wrong. As humans we all have a little bit of evil in us from time to time, but some people seem to be born evil. When you stop to think about it, no one is born evil, influences, pride, desires, emotions, these all play a big part in who we become. So, who is your father? If you believe in Jesus, God is your Father. “Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” - John 8:42-44.

God has always been adamant about putting away the evil from our lives, while we are no longer kept under the law, we still need to put away the evil just for the sake of saving ourselves some heartache. As Moses continues to give the statutes and judgments to the Israelites regarding someone being killed, he explains what is necessary to rid the city of any evil that would come as a result of a dead body found with no explanation.

And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer's neck there in the valley: And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried: And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley: And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it. Be merciful, O LORD, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel's charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them. So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.” - Deuteronomy 21:4-9.

So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you,” Innocent blood, how many lives are lost by the hands of someone doing something evil or immoral? While the heifer sacrifice is referring to someone who died of natural causes, we must not forget that millions of lives are lost for no good reason, those who shed innocent blood will be held accountable for their actions. While the law of grace redeems every soul who comes to Christ, evil is still evil, it all comes with a price, guilt alone is a great price. No matter what we have done, we must confess and repent of our sins to put away the guilt and do what is right in the sight of God. “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates. Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.” - 2 Corinthians 13:5-8.

Reprobate, A person abandoned to sin; one lost to virtue and religion. Most parents raise their kids to be good and accountable for their actions, some are too strict to the point of rebellion, yet others are too lax to the point of bad influences. Every child needs guidance and nurturing, if they are not getting it from the parents they are going to go somewhere else, and we all become who we get around. We are blessed to not be under the law any longer because if we rebelled against our parents today under the law we would be dead. Moses gives the law regarding a rebellious child to put away the evil from among the congregation.

If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear. And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.” - Deuteronomy 2:18-23.

And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death,” Every sin is worthy of death. Jesus took the sin of every man (and woman) to the tree with Him when He gave His life for us, He was hung for our sins. While hanging on the tree God turned His back to His Son, not being able to look at Him for all the sin that was attached to Him. Jesus died so that we would not die for our sin, He made a way for us to redeemed so that we are no longer bound to a law that we cannot keep, but bound to His precious blood for eternity. “But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” - Galatians 3:11-13.

Some things are just common sense to know they are evil, other things, not so much. How do we know what is good or evil? Trust your gut as well as your senses, if something seems off, it probably is wrong. God will guide us to right and wrong through the Holy Spirit, His word is also a good guide. God thought of everything when it came to teaching the Israelites how to live godly on the promised land, some of the things seemed like common sense, while others were like, what? Regardless, there was a reason behind all of them.

When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence. Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled. Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together. Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together. Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself. If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.”- Deuteronomy 22:8-12,28,29.

and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.” I have a papaya tree in my yard, when they first began to grow I had no idea what they were, but as the colors came through I realized but, by that time many were rotten and began falling to the ground. If you have ever seen rotten fruit than you know how disgusting it is, and the only thing it is good is well, nothing. Did you know that we are like fruit? Many are good, but among us are some rotten ones, these would be those claiming to know Christ, but defiling people, with their crazy teaching, including God's own. What happens to rotten fruit? It gets thrown away, likewise, anyone who is not truly a saved. “Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” - Matthew 7:17-20.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Jesus is revealed through the hanged body on the tree that was taken down before the end of the night. In the evening Jesus was taken down from the cross, signifying the Law had been satisfied.

Today's Prayer: God, In this corrupt and wicked world evil is everywhere we turn, sometimes in our very own homes. There are people and things that are just bad for us if we do not get them out of our lives. Lord, lead us and guide us, show us the way we are to take, help us know how to tell the rotten fruit from the good, give us good judgment, and discernment when we need it and the strength to put away anyone or thing that is evil in our lives. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
