Kiss
The Son
Hello
My Friend,
The Book of Psalms is the nineteenth book of
the Old Testament/Bible and contains one hundred-fifty chapters. The
author of the book is mostly David, a couple more would be Moses and
Asaph. The book was first written to the Israelites and it's purpose
was to show them that prayer, praise, confession, and intercession
are an important part in worshiping God. It is the song, prayer and
praise book of the Bible. What we are to learn from the book is that
all who delight in God in their lives will prosper. “And
he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth
forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
- Psalms 1:3.
There are those who are so dead against
God that they try to shut up everyone who believes in and follows
Him. I want to know if they are so sure that God does not exist or
that all the terrible things in the world make Him a mean and cruel
God than why are they so passionate to stop us? I will tell you why.
They are angry and hurt, instead of finding a way to overcome their
pain they not only blame God, they hate Him for allowing the
suffering. The Psalms are full of verses that remind us that God
loves us and is there for us, but they also warn us what happens to
those who reject Him.
“And
he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth
forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are
like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly
shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of
the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the
way of the ungodly shall perish.”
- Psalms 1:3-6.
“For
the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous:”
The
righteous, who are the righteous? Those who are saved. The righteous
are not perfect, some have been down right wicked, but they were
brave enough to admit they are sinners. God
knows every person who is against Him, He knows what they are going
through, their anger, pain, suffering,
but He cannot help them if they do not come to Him. Look, there is no
way to explain why bad things happen for no reason, or why God allows
His own to go through so much suffering, but there is always hope.
That hope can only be in Jesus Christ, even the Psalmist knew that.
“I
will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son;
this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the
heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth
for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou
shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now
therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve
the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he
be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a
little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”
- Psalms 2:7-12.
“Kiss
the Son,”
You
see “Son”, that means God is talking about His Son, God sent His
Son to the heathens for His inheritance. God
sent His Son, His
only begotten Son,
to be a light, to show His love, direction, and discipline to the
angry, oppressed, lonely, brokenhearted, and
everyone
in and out of the world. To
those who deny
Him, hate Him, rebel against Him, He will deny them, He cannot and
will not deny himself. Many will reject God because that
say He
threatens them with hell unless they follow
His orders.
If
they would open their eyes they would see what
God is all
about.
When God created everything good it was sin that destroyed it, Yes,
God did created
hell for those who are wicked, and that includes those who do not
believe. It
does not matter how good we are, how much we try to help the less
fortunate, sin brings death and hell if we do not Kiss the Son. “He
that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and
he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the
abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and
idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which
burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
- Revelation 21:7,8.
I understand that life is not fair
sometimes, we suffer with illnesses, diseases, death, poverty, body
defects, constant disappointments, and people who are down right
awful. We have been lied to, cheated on, abused, hated, and watched
people die. We cannot humanly comprehend why God would allow it at
all, especially when we are His. The truth is, we are not supposed to
try and figure it out. Suffering removes pride, it makes us humble,
and it teaches us that there are no guarantees in this world. What we
are to do is seek and trust God, let Him comfort us and give us the
answers to our problems, and show us how to handle the situation.
David wrote this Psalm when he was king and his own son tried to kill
him and claim the throne for himself. “A
Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.
LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise
up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help
for him in God. Selah. But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my
glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the LORD with my
voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.”
- Psalms 3:1-4
“There
is no help for him in God.”
That is what the world likes us to believe, that
we can never get help from God. Let me tell you, after
my fiasco with the cake on
Sunday I
lost money that
was lent to me to buy the supplies,
I
was discouraged, felt humiliated, and that God was against everything
I was trying to do. Then today, shortly after I prayed, I
got a message
today
for a big order and someone
wanting a website.
You see, when I took the time to talk to God and not
scream at Him,
that was when I got my answer. When everyone thinks you are a fool
for trusting God, let your testimonies tell them otherwise. “There
be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the
light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart,
more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I
will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only
makest me dwell in safety.”
- Psalms 4:6-8.
“only
makest me dwell in safety.”
In the midst of our problems there is safety, and that safety is in
the arms of Jesus Christ. Just wrap your arms around Jesus, pray, and
let Him take the lead. “Hearken
unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I
pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning
will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou art not
a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with
thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all
workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the
LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. But as for me, I will
come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear
will I worship toward thy holy temple.”
- Psalms 5:2-7.
“and
will look up.”
I will admit that I have been having a hard time looking up to God. I
use to recite part of this Psalm ever morning so when I read it today
I felt ashamed because I have not been trusting God very much the
past couple of months. It was only when I cried out to Him with all
my heart that He spoke, He truly is a refuge to those who humble
themselves before Him. “But
the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for
judgment. And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall
minister judgment to the people in uprightness. The LORD also will be
a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they
that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast
not forsaken them that seek thee.”
- Psalms 9:7-10.
Jesus
Christ Revealed:
Jesus is revealed through the one God made lower than the angels
(8:5). Jesus, in all His power as God, lowered Himself to take on a
flesh body to be redemption for us. “But
we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the
suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the
grace of God should taste death for every man.”
- Hebrews 2:9.
Today's
Prayer:
God,
I will not even begin to understand Your reasoning, it is much to
complex for my mind, I do understand that You love me, want the best
for me, and use my suffering to make me more like Your Son. I have
kissed Your Son, I remember the day I truly knew I was saved, and I
thank You for helping me through every bit of suffering. Lord,
Hearken
unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I
pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning
will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Thank You for
being my safety, refuge, comfort, and bringing me peace, I know that
You will never leave or forsake me, thank You for Your mercy and
grace, and that it is endless. Lord, be those who are hurting,
oppressed, angry, soften some hearts, show them Your love, and let
them see that there is hope, and life after this one. I love You, and
pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
God
Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
