Hello My Friend,

With it being the Christmas season some are hearing about the birth of Jesus for the very first time, churches all over the world are telling the story of Jesus, many are preparing to reenact that very night the Savior was born. What many people do not realize is that Jesus existed well before He came to earth as a man, in fact, Jesus existed well before God even created the world. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” - John 1:1-5,14.

The word complete means, having no deficiency; perfect, to fulfill; to accomplish; to perform. God is complete, He has no deficiencies, He is perfect. Everything He creates, even down to the very last defect is complete. In six twenty-four hour days God completed heaven and earth, on the last day He formed man out of the very earth He created the first day (See Genesis chapters 1,2) and in an instant God breathed life into the shell of a man, making man complete, having God's spirit, a living soul, and a body. However, just as quick as God gave life to man He took it away when Adam and Even brought sin into the world by disobeying this command, “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” - Genesis 2:16,17. The second Adam and Eve ate of that fruit they died spiritually, making man incomplete. Still today, all who are born have a soul and body, but we are incomplete, dead spiritually, until we are made complete in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Book of Colossians is the twelfth book of the New Testament, the fifty-first book of the Bible and it contains four chapters. The author of this epistle (letter) is Paul and it was first written to the believers in the church of Colosse who were to share the letter with believers at Laodecea. Paul wrote the letter approximately 64AD, it came to his attention that there was some false doctrine going among the church so, he set the record straight through the letter. The purpose of the letter was to address doctrinal issues within the church. What we are to learn from the book is that everything in the world is Christ, He is all things and is in all His believers. “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” - Colossians 1:17.

In Paul's letter to the Colossians he commends them for their faith in Christ, but reminds them that they have a lot to learn about Christ, who is God in the flesh. “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” -I Colossians 1:9-17.

In the 6015 years or so since God created all things in heaven and earth many are unexplainable and beyond comprehension to human understanding. It's a good thing that we are made unaware of some things, look at all the disasters that happened over the years by someone who tried to play God. While scientists try to figure it all out and pretend that God does not exist, they miss a valuable point, even if the world did evolve over billions of years ago from a tiny spec someone had to have made the spec. “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” - Romans 1:20,21.

Probably one of the hardest things to explain is the Godhead, One God in the form of three persons, who is God the Father, Jesus, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Paul explains that we are only complete when we receive the fulness of the Godhead. “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” - Colossians 2:6-10.

I can use visual aids, an egg, a shamrock, a car, water, a person, but what it all comes down to is this, faith. We must have faith, without faith all of us would question how Jesus could be sitting at the right hand of God up in heaven right now and still be God. The truth is this, God is God, He can do what He wants to do, besides it was important for Him to identify Himself as three separate individuals. If Jesus had a hard time trying to convince people that He was the Son of God, can you imagine the reaction if He said that He was God in the flesh? By faith, we believe that Jesus is the sinless Son of God, who died on the cross, was buried, and three days later resurrected. By faith, we accept Christ as our Savior, based on that knowledge, depending only on Him to save us from hell. Likewise, by faith, we are to understand that there is only One God, Who exists in three separate persons. “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” - I John 5:7.

Until you receive Christ you are incomplete, you do not have the Spirit of God dwelling in you. Once you receive Christ you are complete, having no deficiencies, and are perfect in God's eyes. Why? Because He sees His Son in you, who is perfect. You are complete in Him, rejoice in that, keep studying God's Word, learn the truth, be ready to respond to anyone trying to tell you otherwise what you have learned. Don't be rude, if they want to believe that they are a spec let them believe it, but at least you will know how to respond the next time they try to tell you that you are a spec. “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” -Colossians 4:2-6.

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, here I am again, Your work in progress. Although I committed my life to you many years ago the finished work will not be revealed until I draw my final breath on this side of Your creation. In the midst of my struggles, failures, and doubts I remain confident that You will complete the work that began the day I surrendered my life to You. You accepted me as I was and You lovingly began reshaping of my life to reflect the image of Your Son. Not only are You continuing the good work You began, but You are perfecting the situations that weaken my faith and my Christian testimony. I thank You that You will fulfill Your purpose for me this day as I commit all my ways to You. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
