Message Title: Reignite Your Fire For God
Hello My Friend,
You know the times in your life when you are on fire for God, your faith is on high, and you have convinced yourself that nothing is impossible with God? Those are good times. Unfortunately, our fire for God tends to smolder as life's events get in the way, but keep in mind, even a little bit of faith goes a long way. “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” - 1 Peter 1:7-9.
In order to get through life's events, we need God, every hour, of every day, and the sooner we realize that the better life will get for us. There are simply some things that without God, are impossible, even though we are capable of them, we just do not rid of them completely without Him. God sent Jesus, not just to die for us, but to give us a helping hand also, He doesn't want to be just our Saviour, He wants to be our Lord as well. One day, we will see Him, face to face, but only those who make Him Saviour and Lord will join Him in His kingdom. As God continues to show Ezekiel the vision of His glorious temple, He tells him that the gate to the inner court (the place were Jesus would abide), will only be open on sabbath days.
“And the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate without, and shall stand by the post of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening. Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the sabbaths and in the new moons. And the burnt offering that the prince shall offer unto the LORD in the sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish, and a ram without blemish. But when the people of the land shall come before the LORD in the solemn feasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.” - Ezekiel 46:2-4,9.
When you receive the Lord, Jesus Christ as your Saviour, God does not want you to go the path that you came from, He wants you to go forward, along a new path that He is laying out for you. Life really does have a way of smoldering our fire for God, as much as I would like to say that I tell God I need Him every hour of every day, I don't. My thing is that I try to do everything within my own power, and when I fail, I am too ashamed to admit that I need Him. I imagine we all have been there, but thankful to His grace, we can come to Him, and He will be with open arms. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30.
God leads Ezekiel to an amazing vision, a life giving river. “And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river. Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh. And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.” - Ezekiel 47:6-9,12.
What an amazing illustration of salvation, when we receive the living water (Jesus Christ) He touches us and heals us from our sins. Once we receive Christ, He gives us eternal life, that means our soul will never die, and one day, even our body will join our souls and we will live with our, body, soul, and spirit, forever. When we receive the waters of the living Christ, He really does heal us, He heals our broken soul, and spirit, but if we truly want to be healed, we need to cover our entire body in His water. We do that by drawing close to Him, and staying by Him. “The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” - Proverbs 13:4,12.
God gives Ezekiel as amazing prophecy, one in which, all who believe in Christ will join Israel and become one nation. In addition to that, we all receive an inheritance in the Kingdom of God. “Thus saith the Lord GOD; This shall be the border, whereby ye shall inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have two portions. And ye shall inherit it, one as well as another: concerning the which I lifted up mine hand to give it unto your fathers: and this land shall fall unto you for inheritance. So shall ye divide this land unto you according to the tribes of Israel. And it shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you, and to the strangers that sojourn among you, which shall beget children among you: and they shall be unto you as born in the country among the children of Israel; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. And it shall come to pass, that in what tribe the stranger sojourneth, there shall ye give him his inheritance, saith the Lord GOD.” - Ezekiel 47:13,14,21-23.
Everyone who believes and receives Christ, becomes joint heirs with Christ, and receives an inheritance from God. we are blessed to have eternal life with Him and receive a part of the inheritance that the Jews will receive too. While we are not saved by our works, our works do help in receiving what our inheritance will be, but unless we receive Him, we get nothing, but a firy pit. “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.” - Matthew 16:27,28.
Today's Prayer: God, As the events of life smolder our fire for You, it can be hard to come to You every hour of every day. Lord, we cannot avoid the trials of life, but we can get through them as we draw near Your Son, and stay close to Him. Give us Your power to ignite our faith, and see amazing things come as we increase our faith, give us Your strength to keep going on Your path, even when we fall, and help us to get back up, to keep moving forward, and never look back. In Jesus' name, Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
