Message: Leviticus: Consecrated For Serving God

Hello My Friend,

There are many things we can do to serve God, and it does not have to be in a church, but it is God who choses us where He wants us to serve Him. In or out of church, we still represent Him, so wherever we go, we need to be serving Him as though we are being watch by everyone in the church. And by the way, we are being watched. “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” - John 15:16.

In continuation of God explaining the sacrifices and how the priests were to perform them, God gives more detail into the peace offering. Peace offerings were offered for one of three reasons, to give thanks for some special mercy received, to perform a vow made in distress, or to ask for special mercy. Unlike sin offerings, peace offerings could be consumed by the priests.

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, He that offereth the sacrifice of his peace offerings unto the LORD shall bring his oblation unto the LORD of the sacrifice of his peace offerings. His own hands shall bring the offerings of the LORD made by fire, the fat with the breast, it shall he bring, that the breast may be waved for a wave offering before the LORD. And the priest shall burn the fat upon the altar: but the breast shall be Aaron's and his sons'. And the right shoulder shall ye give unto the priest for an heave offering of the sacrifices of your peace offerings. He among the sons of Aaron, that offereth the blood of the peace offerings, and the fat, shall have the right shoulder for his part.” - Leviticus 7:29-33.

His own hands shall bring the offerings of the LORD made by fire,” Even though we can be of service to God we too can mess up, we are not perfect nor will we ever be until we get to heaven. We are all sinners saved by the grace of God. So, when we mess up, what happens? We make it right with God, we reconcile our relationship by willingly giving a peace offering.

Consecrate, to make one sacred, to set apart, dedicate, or devote, to the service and worship of God. We must understand that if Christ chooses us, we are consecrated, set apart and dedicated to the service and worship of God. Before the priest or high priest was able to serve God and accept the sacrifices of the people, they had to be consecrated. Moses gathers the entire congregation together to watch him as he consecrated Aaron and his sons.

And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which the LORD commanded to be done. And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumbs of their right hands, and upon the great toes of their right feet: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about. And Moses said unto Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and there eat it with the bread that is in the basket of consecrations, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it. And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn with fire. And ye shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation in seven days, until the days of your consecration be at an end: for seven days shall he consecrate you. As he hath done this day, so the LORD hath commanded to do, to make an atonement for you.” - Leviticus 8:5,24,31-34.

so the LORD hath commanded to do, to make an atonement for you.” God has one command and one command only for those who are going to serve Him, make an atonement for your sins. Today, our atonement comes from Jesus Christ alone, He is our blood sacrifice needed to be consecrated and ready to serve God. “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” - Romans 5:10,11.

As Christians, we can rejoice in the fact that we are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, His precious blood redeems, reconciles, and restores our soul not only from hell, but being separated from God too. We can thank Him for His endless mercy for keeping the promises He made to us, no matter how many times we mess up. When Aaron formed that golden calf God could have killed him instantly as he not only gave the people an idol to worship, he made it, yet, God in all His mercy still used him to become the first high priest to the children of Israel. After the seven days of their consecration were ended, Aaron and his sons were now able to minister to God in the tabernacle and fulfill their duties.

And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD. And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering; Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you. And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings. And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people. And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.” - Leviticus 9:1-4,22-24.

And there came a fire out from before the LORD,” The glory of the Lord, the fire that came down from heaven and devoured the sacrifices, it was so powerful that the people fell on their knees in fear. There is no greater way to redeem someone than fear, many of us get saved and have no desire to serve God until we see the glory of the Lord. As powerful as God is, He has no power to force us to choose Him. And regardless of whether or not we choose Him, every knee will bow and will have to give an account for the things we have done. “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” - Romans 14:11,12.

Today's Prayer: God, I thank You for Your mercy and grace, it truly does not end for those who love You. I know that You have chosen me to serve You, why I will never know, but I do know that You want me to come to You willingly. Lord, lead me and guide me, keep me looking to You so I do not get swayed by outside influences just eager to get me away from You. I know that You could easily cast me away for disobeying You over and over and over again, but Your promise to never leave nor forsake us still stands for all who put their faith and trust in Your Son. Give me Your power, wisdom, to endure temptation, help me to serve You with love, mercy, grace, and compassion on for all. Give me the strength to get through every day with godly fear, and let me glorify You in all that I do. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
