Today's ChaptersJohn 14-16
Message TitleLet Me Carry You

Hello My Friend,

One of my favorite poems is Footprints In The Sand, part of the poem says, “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?” The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.” We may not always see Jesus, especially during the trials in life, but that does not mean that He is not with us, He is always with those whom have believed in Him and accepted Him as their Saviour. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” - Deuteronomy 31:6.

One would think that if Jesus is around you all day that there would be no doubts, fears, or questions about any thing that's going on. Unfortunately, Jesus can be right in front of us, and we would still have the same doubts, fears, and questions. While the disciples have been preaching about Jesus dying and resurrecting three days later to save those who believe in Him, they became confused when He said He must return to His Father. Jesus tries to comfort them, but they still had some questions. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” - John 14:1-9.

Jesus is saying, “I and the Father are one,” meaning, “I am God.
First of all, in order to believe in the Son, we must believe in the Father. Believing in Jesus is believing that He and the Father are one, but the only way to know that is to first know believe in Jesus.” The only way to knowGod, the Father is to know Christ, the Son. “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” - 1 John 5:10-12.

While our salvation has nothing to do with following His commands, it has everything to do with the blessings we will receive by giving thanks to Jesus for what He has done for us. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” - John 14:12-17,21.

What does Jesus command us to do? Love one another. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. ” - John 15:12-16.

Christ proved His lov
e for us by laying down His life for us, but He didn't just come here to be the sacrifice we all need for redemption from hell, He came here to show us just how blessed we will be after we get saved and follow His commands. What a blessed life we have when we love one another as Jesus loved us. God does not want us to die for Him, but He does want us to live for Him. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” - Romans 12:1,2.

Sometimes in order to see Christ, we must let Him go, meaning let Him go to the cross. To fully understand what Jesus does for us we need to see Him on the cross, and not only that, but that He was in the tomb, and arose three days later also. Once we let Him go we will receive Him gladly because we will understand that He really is always with us. Jesus tells the disciples why He must leave. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” - John 16:7-13.

Today, God has blessed me with life
here on earth for forty-four years. It's not always been easy, some have been down right unbearable, but I wouldn't trade them for the world because when I was at my worst that is when Jesus was doing His greatest work in me. Thanks to Jesus my life does not end when my flesh does, it begins a new chapter in the presence of my King. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” - 2 Corinthians 5:8-10.

Today's PrayerJesus, Your grace is sufficient to meet all my needs in the midst of trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, and danger. I truly have the victory because of Your love for me! I choose to walk with You, and reject the devil's lies that seek to convince me that I am an exception to Your redemptive power or that my troubles will never come to pass. Your power is unbiased, all-reaching, and ever merciful to those who call upon You in times of trouble. I’m so grateful that I have You in my life. I love You, Jesus, Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
