Title: Blind
With Sin,
Sight With
Christ
Hello My Friend,
Record, to
write or enter in a book or on paper, for the purpose of preserving
authentic or correct evidence of a thing. The Bible is an authentic
copy of the words of God transcribed by men He inspired through the
Holy Spirit. Not one word is misspelled, not one event missing, and
not one person is left out that He did not want to be in there. Of
course, many, many men and women in history can give an account for
their testimonies of God, and Jesus for that matter, but they were
simply not meant to be in the Word of God. Why? It's His Book, He
will have what He wants in it. “Knowing this
first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private
interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of
man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
- 2 Peter 1:20,21.
Now, that Jesus (who is the Word of God
in the flesh) was teaching the Law, the Jews had a hard time
believing that He was the one that all the Scriptures talked about,
in fact, they did not want to hear anyone even agreeing with Him.
Jesus confronts the Pharisees who questioned His accountability. “The
Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself;
thy record is not true. Jesus answered and said unto them, Though
I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I
came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither
I go. Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. And yet if I judge,
my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that
sent me. It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two
men is true. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father
that sent me beareth witness of me. He that is of God heareth God's
words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.”
- John 8:13-18,47.
“because ye
are not of God” Those who truly believe in God believe
in the Son, if they do not than they are not of God. Who knows anyone
better than themselves? God. He created us, of course, He is the only
other one who truly knows everything about us. Think about it? People
who knew you BC (Before Christ) see you as what they saw before
Christ came into your life. They have no idea who you are now, and
that scares them to death. To those who live in the world, we may
look like hypocrites or prudes, but God knows who we are, and whether
or not we believe in His Son, He can't deny Himself, and it is Jesus
will account for us. “It is a faithful
saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: If
we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will
deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny
himself. Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them
before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to
the subverting of the hearers.” - 2 Timothy 2:11-14.
As
you get in God's Word you see just how much He does love you, He
doesn't want to see us in needless pain or suffering, He just wants
us to believe in Him and trust Him. We may not realize it, but every
one of our health problems or infirmities has a purpose, it's not all
because of sin, sometimes it's just to prove our faith in Him. As
Jesus saw a blind man sitting in the street and He cured him from his
blindness. As the man went through town, telling people what Jesus
did it caused an uproar, many believed, but were afraid to admit it,
and the ones who didn't believe accused him of being a liar, even
questioning his parents.
“His
parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and
that he was born blind: But by what means he now seeth, we know not;
or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he
shall speak for himself. These words spake his parents, because they
feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did
confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him. Then again called
they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise:
we know that this man is a sinner. He answered and said, Whether he
be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was
blind, now I see.”- John 9:20-25.
“whereas
I was blind, now I see.” Before we know Christ we are
spiritually blind from seeing God, but once we hear of Him and
believe our eyes are opened and we can see the Saviour for who He
truly is, our Saviour from our sins, death, hell, and the life we
lived. Those who refuse to accept Christ because they are blinded in
their sins, but they can't force those who do believe to deny Him, He
does way too much in our lives to ever say that He has not literally
opened our eyes to the world and our need for His power to overcome
it. “For if these things be in you, and
abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful
in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these
things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he
was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give
diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these
things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered
unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ.” - 2 Peter 1:8-11.
The
sheepfold is a holding place where the shepherd houses the sheep for
the night, it was a place for protection from predators. When the
shepherd would open the gate, he would hold out his rod, and count
the sheep as they passed under the rod. This assured him that every
one of his sheep were accounted for. God often refers to His people
as sheep without a sheep without a shepherd. Now, Jesus explains that
He is the Shepherd to His lost sheep.
“Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the
sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a
robber. This parable spake Jesus
unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he
spake unto them. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily,
verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever
came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear
them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved,
and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but
for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might
have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good
shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he
that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are
not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and
the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.”
- John 10:1,6-12.
“I am the
door of the sheep” Christ is our Shepherd and the only
door that leads to God and heaven. If any person tries to enter in by
any other way other then going through Christ, he is a thief and a
robber, and will be denied entrance into the Kingdom of God. When we
enter into His sheepfold we are protected, not only from the devil,
but from every predator out to get us. Yes, we will still targeted,
but He will protect us one way or another. This is simple and easy to
be understood by those who hear the Shepherd calling them and follow
His voice. Not everyone that says they are God's are His, and while
our works have nothing to do with our salvation, they have everything
to do with showing the world that we are His.“Unto
the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and
unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is
defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him,
being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work
reprobate.” - Titus 1:15,16.
Today's
Prayer: God, It's amazing that all we have to do is look
to Your Son and be free from not only the punishment of sin, but the
bondage of it as well. While we can never be sin free we can be set
free as we abide in Christ and let Him continue to do a great work in
us. Lord, lead us and guide us, give us Your power to stand by our
faith and overcome all who try to discredit us and mock us for
standing by Your truths. Put your head of protection upon us, and let
all those who bully us see the error of their ways. Let our
faithfulness be a witness they may need to believe in and accept Your
Son too. In Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying
for you,
Christina
