Message Title: Dream Big In The Will Of God
Hello My Friend,
Believe, having faith in something so much that you know it must be true and right. Everyone believes in something, but not everything we believe in is true. Some people believe in something so much, even when it's not true that they make up their own fantasy land. The problem with fantasies is that they are just that, make believe, and no matter how much we try to make fantasies realities, they are just not going to happen. Now, for the good news, we can dream, and we can dream big, and if we believe that all things are possible with God than those dreams will become realities. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” - 1 John 5:14,15.
“according to his will, he heareth us” Here lies the key to every single thing that we ask of God, according to His will, He hears us, if what we are asking is in His will for us, than we will get it. How do we know if we are asking for something in the will of God. Just think about it, does it line up with His Word? First are far most if we desire anything from God, we must be saved. God will not hear us if we are not saved. The Gospel of John fills in all the all the blanks left behind from the other three, one of them is John's, he preached the same message as Jesus, but man did not want to hear that message. John the Baptist sums it all up, believe in the Son. “He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” - John 3:31-36.
“He that cometh from above is above all” We must believe that Jesus has the upper hand in everything, if we are His, than we are sealed anything we ask in His will we will get. Many times, God will give us challenges to see if we are going to stick it out or walk away and move on to something else. If we are living a pretty godly life and walking with Jesus than we can expect some challenges, we need to be sure of two things, is God's hand in it, and is it something we really want. If we can answer yes to both of those questions than we are on our way to receiving what we are asking. Keep in mind also that what every we ask God wants the glory. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:19.
Now, we may be saved and living a pretty godly life, but something still seems off key with God. We see our dreams, they are right there in the distance, but we can't reach them, we try everything, but we can't seem to get close enough to grab on to it. What do we do? We tell people about Jesus. Remember, faith without works is dead, but it's God's work that we may be lacking in, most of all telling the lost about His Son. The Gospel of John also introduces the entire world to Jesus, not just the Jews, the Romans, or the Greeks, but all people. As Jesus was passing through Samaria, he ran into a woman at a well. She had heard of Jesus, but discovered that He was right there in front of her. Not only did she get saved, she ran in to town and told everyone else about Him.
“The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? Then they went out of the city, and came unto him. And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. And many more believed because of his own word; And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.” - John 4:28-30.39-42.
“Now we believe, not because of thy saying” Let me tell you, we can get saved, but it can be years before we realize exactly what it means to fully receive Christ as our Saviour. I can always relate to the woman at the well because she had a past and it didn't matter, Jesus accepted her anyway. If we are going to dream big we need to make sure that Christ is the center of it, most of all that we are telling others about Him. You know, we don't have to quote a bunch of Scripture, just let Christ shine through you and when He does they will see Him and then they will believe in the Scriptures. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” - Romans 10:17.
Speaking of Scripture, not everyone believes or they choose what they believe and try to ignore the rest. Perhaps part of the reason that we do not see our dreams coming true is that we are not following Scripture. Okay, we see Jesus separating Himself apart from the Jews once again, yes, He descended through the flesh of David's as man, making Him through mans eyes a Jew, but He was technically now a Jew. Jesus speaking to the unbelievers, reminds them that He's in all the Scriptures.
“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. I receive not honour from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?” - John 5:39-47.
“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life” It drives me crazy when people tell me that not everything in the Bible is for us, that we are to only follow certain parts of it. Okay, do they not realize that the New Testament mirrors the Old? Everything that was said after Jesus came, died, was buried, arose, and ascended up to heaven was already said before He came here. While we are not subject to the laws of Moses, as we are saved by faith, but the same blood still applies. All Scripture is to be used for us to truly know God's ways and what He wants for us. As we study the Scriptures we learn His will, as we learn His will we can ask anything in the name of Jesus and it will be done in His time. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” - 2 Timothy 3:16,17.
Today's Prayer: God, I know it can be hard at times to see the path of my dreams coming true with the clutter of my doubts, fears, and questions. Lord, You are the Light that banishes the clutter, shine Your Light on me, lead me and guide me in Your will and Your ways, help me to see Your Light through all the clutter and chaos that is constantly trying to keep me in the dark, and keep me on that path to Your will and seeing my dreams come true. I love You Lord and ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
