Message Title: God Will Catch You
Hello My Friend,
I love rice, I make a meal out of it with meat and vegetables. Quite often on Tuesday or Saturday I will make a large batch so I don't have to cook on church days. It amazes me every time I cook it because just a tiny bit makes enough to feed an army. Rice reminds me of how plentiful God is, He never stops filling us with the things we need, even when we get discouraged or lack in our faith, He still provides, even if we backslide He's always there to catch us from falling. “O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.” - Psalms 31:23,24.
“all ye that hope in the LORD.” Believe it or not, God knows our hearts, He knows those who truly have hope in Him, He also knows those who pretend to believe, and are only trying to see what they can get out of Him. As Jesus walks from town to town His gathers became many, quite often they followed Him only because He did something amazing wherever He went, including feeding five thousand of them with two fish and five loaves of bread. Jesus needed to get away for a while, so, He went up to a mountain to pray and sent the disciples away. The next day, the people knowing that Jesus was not with the disciples questioned how He got there, they got an answer they did not expect.
“After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.” - John 6:1.2.14,15,24-27.
“because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled” These people were not believers, they just knew that He took care of His believers, and they too would be fed. Did you ever wonder why God places His people in the midst of those who are in the world? He does it so that people learn of and believe in His Son. You may not realize it, but a company or anything else that is managed or employed by Christians is very prosperous, whether or not everyone there is a Christian. Many will befriend or even hire Christians because of this, but have no intentions of receiving Christ themselves. Sooner or later, if God sees that His servant is no longer effective in reaching anyone there, He will take His servant away. “Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;” -1 Corinthians 3:18-21.
“The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise,” The wise, those who walk by sight and not faith, those who take things as literal to their own reasoning. The wise have a hard time believing that God is the Creator of all things because they believe that you must see the Creator. The Jews, these were probably Pharisees, question Jesus and want to know what they have to do to get eternal life. He responds by telling them that He is the bread of life.
“Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life.” - John 6:32,33,41-48.
“Every man therefore that hath heard” In order to come to the Father we need the Son, those who hear this and believe are taught the things of God, they feed off the only bread that can satisfy a hungry soul. Everything about God is spiritual, that is why we must worship Him in spirit, human reasoning can never comprehend the amazing and incredible things of God, that is why we walk by faith and not our reasoning. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” - Hebrews 11:6.
With Jesus in town you could imagine the talking that was going around, Jesus secretly watching them hears their conversations, but none of them wanted to openly talk about Him for fear that they would be persecuted by the Jews. “Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people. Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?” - John 7:11-13,16-19.
“If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine” God's Word was, is, and always will be the same, people can try to change or justify the law themselves, but God will never change. He will never get us to do something that will contradict His Word. If you are saved and living in the will of God you will know if the doctrine you hear is of God or man. We must not judge anyone by their outward appearance, but by their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ according to the Word of God. “Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” - John 7:22-24.
“Judge not according to the appearance,” The majority of the time people spout don't judge me when they are living sinful lives and trying to justify their actions. This is not what Jesus means, we cannot judge a person by the way they look, but we can judge them by their actions. Are they doing the things of God? If you are saved and study the Bible long enough you will be able to tell if someone is teaching the things of God or of man. It is the Holy Spirit inside of every saved, born again child of God that teaches us the things of God as we get in His Word. Yes, some people have backslidden away from God, and where they should be eating the meat of His Word, they must be fed milk. The point to all this is that God never gives up on His children, yes, He knows we have this flesh, He is going to let us do what we want in it, but that does not mean He will not be chastised for what we are doing. We are all a mess, if we have faith in God, He will catch us when we fall, and keep us from going off the edge. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” - 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Today's Prayer: Jesus, Thank You again for the sacrifice You made for me, I do not have eternal life based on any thing that I have done, but my faith and trust in what You have done. Lord, lead me and guide me, help me to live not by man's word, but by Your Word, I know it's the only way I can truly live in Your will and be satisfied. While people may come and go in my life You will never leave nor forsake me no matter how many times I mess up. Thank You for Your grace, mercy and never ending love. In pray in Your name Jesus, Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
